He almost was…I think he came close to taking on Buster Douglas for 3 rounds or somesuch.
Maybe it was some other busted down broke HW champion.
I did a little trolling when i first joined the forum, like my "butterbean should be in the UFC" thread and some others i can't remember.![]()

I vaguely remember this when I used to watch 'the best damn sports show'
speaking of which...I remember o when he was a kid on there...such an arrogant ass. lol...he was slumped in his chair with his sun glass opened and wrapped around his neck.
Too bad I didn't care for MMA at the time...I had forgotten all about it.
lol i remember o and Shamrock on Best Damn before their UFC 40 bout. hilarious. you could probably find it on youtube.
Yep..If Chuck and Andy both win they WILL fight at the New Years Eve PPV!
dude that would be crazy..
I know...and let me rephrase that...if Chuck and Anderson both win and dont suffer a significant injury they will fight. You know they both can be ready and will put on a show....
Florian-Stevenson set for November...

good fight. kenny takes it.
That’s a perfect match up. So evenly matched and I would like to see Roger take the loser on.
Tough one to call. Would be a great fight. Chuck fighting Evans is going to be like a sparring session for him. That is such a mis-match it is hilarious. Rashad is like a smaller version of o. He can't strike with Chuck and has no chance to take him down. Chuck by KO maybe in RD 1.
Great Stuff

the financial picture of proelite/exc becomes more clear
http://www.mmapayout.com/2008/08/proelite-10-q/
In the end its possible pro-elite might be the worst thing to ever happen to MMA since they may wipe out 6 or 7 shows with them. Another case of a company trying to break into this thing over night and not taking it slow. Again...why is everyone in such a rush? Why did pro-elite rapidly buy all of these orgs within weeks of each other and fail so fast?
I don't get it.

In case anyone doesn't know…Pro Elite went on a shopping bender and bought up a ton of orgs…
Cage Rage
ICON
Spirit FC
EliteXC
King of the Cage
And a handful of others…this would be far more catastrophic than PRIDE folding.

dear godd.....![]()
Well they definately tried to buy up all these smaller promotions and get the best talent not in the UFC that they could. Not a bad idea on the surface, but their product as a whole from what i saw, in terms of production was quite poor. Put too much in that Kimbo fight as you have said in the past and it was such a bad fight and poorly, executed most that saw it could not have been impressed.

How about when the one guy asks o
"Ken is the greatest shoot-fighter ever in the world, how are you going to beat this guy"

Atencio said they need to be more financially responsible in the future...so why are they doing this?
This whole MMA lifestyle thing is very Bodogish.
Absolutely...can't blame them and its a rather good idea.
I just wonder why they and everyone else is in such a hurry. Nobody has any patience. They want to build everything over night and that makes no sense.
I really think the Strikeforce model (aside from zuffa) is the best way to do this. They're going nice and slow…constantly churn out a good product. The UFC put on shows at a slow stable pace for a long time...4 to 8 months between shows at times and it worked. They didn't try to do it over night.
Ken possibly has the worst comebacks ever. From UFC 40 all the way to TUF 3. He should have stayed in Pro Wrestling and could have left a better legacy in MMA. But i dont know if the UFC would be where it would be today without the o-Ken banter.
on a side note... when do you think the UFC #'s stop? do they stop at UFC 100, and just go with the aspect of like UFC: Silva vs. Irvin?
The feud although one sided did a lot for the sport of MMA. UFC 40 was the biggest MMA event in history at that time. It actually got me back into the sport, as i had not watched since really the early UFC's. Went into that fight rooting for Ken, left it liking what i saw from o and have loved him since. TUF 3 was awesome. Their banter back and forth was just pure entertainment. That was always the thing about Ken and o, they had the best promos of anyone, sucking you in but when it was time to fight, it was all o.
