Iguodala wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Granger
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ar...ggy_like_deal/The Pacers can extend the contract of forward Danny Granger anytime between now and the end of October, and it appears as though he could receive a deal similar to the one the 76ers gave Andre Iguodala, according to The Indianapolis Star.
Granger and Iguodala had somewhat similar numbers last season, and Iguodala got a six-year extension worth $80 million from Philadelphia.
RealGM Note: Pacers GM David Morway told RealGM during the first week of August that they had yet to open up negotiations with Granger.
Granger was 46th in the NBA in season FIC and 'deserved' to make $11.11 million during the 07-08 season. Iguodala was ranked 20th and 'deserved' to make $13.76 million and was 21st during his own third season in the NBA.

Granger had a very good year, but the last month of the season he went on an insane scoring tear, and looked unstoppable at times. I think they'd be smart to lock him up now and build from there. They'll have payroll issues for another couple of years with Dunleavy and Troy Murphy getting around 20 mil combined until 2011 and Tinsley making around 7 mil/year also until 2011. They'll lose the much-too-high salaries of Nesterovic and Marquis Daniels after next season (8.4 and 6.8 mil) and maybe Foster's 6.1 mil, and start from there... For any Spurs fans who think that their FO isn't skilled at signing decent role players to sensible contracts, just take a look at the Pacers' problems and be thankful we're not in this situation: http://hoopshype.com/salaries/indiana.htm
Not really Iggy has more assists/game, Danny has more boards, and they both averaged 19 PPG. Plus Dannys FT percentage is wayyyyy better. 10 plus points better. Danny also plays real nice D...not saying that Andre dosent. Also, Danny is very versatile and can play 2, 3, and 4 very well. That is great and also he is a good ball handler. Not a PG by any means, but a good solid ball handler. Plus its the Indiana Pacers and if your going to make someone your franchise player they need to have a good head on their shoulders. Danny does.
What's FIC?
Granger isnt worthy of a contract like Andre
He clearly is for the reasons I stated above
Granger is a second or maybe third banana. Just because Philly paid franchise money to another one doesn't mean Indy should.
Danny Granger has got potential, but I don't know if its THAT good.
seems like nba teams are going to overpay to keep young talent or else bolt to overseas in euro....but seriously wtf overpays for a scrub player
