Scola played well. He was playing hard the entire time he was out there. He took advantage of the fact the US was playing small forwards on him most of the game. He definitely played well.

Again, will you please explain to us how Luis Scola sucks.....this thread isn't about Anthony Johnson. Who gives a rats ass if he scored 50 points.
Luis Scola as a rookie in the NBA averaged 14 and 9 against Boozer in the playoffs (so it's not just small forwards that he can do this to) and already has a gold medal, this game isn't even the highlight of his career.
this isn't even his best game in this years Olympics...he all over Kirilenko for 37 points and made him look like a D league player.
Scola can flat out ball.......he's a machine.
At the end of the game, Kobe walked up to Scola and said "you're the man. you are the man.". Then they laughed and talked for a quick few and went on.
Everyone overrates the out of Scola. He's good at moving without the ball and getting open for looks, and footwork. decent rebounder. poor defender, inability to create his own shot consistently. Overall he's a decent player but ettefans won't quit blowing their load repeatedly every time he scores a point of grabs a rebound.
Thats all Scola needs to be is a guy who does all those things. He is'nt our 2nd or third option, he's our fourth.
It's not complicated. Scola cost the Rockets nothing to acquire, makes like $3million a year and is a nice, scrappy player. He's no all-star, but he's a solid starter for a good team. Why wouldn't Rockets fans be happy with him? I bet the Mavs would rather have someone like him at his salary and production then Eric Dampier pulling down a $73 million contract for his six points/ seven rebounds a game.
Scola is an effing beast that hustles no matter what stage of the game , a guy you don't have to create for, very nice post moves and a good finisher.

Whether it was your money or not is NOT the point. We are talking about your negative comments about Scola when your teams biggest move this offseason was overpaying on face.
No, I'm saying that Scola is a very tough and effective offensive rebounder (as you probably saw in the Olympics semifinal game, where 4 of his 11 boards came on the offensive end). Tim Duncan also gets about a third of his boards on offence; are you calling TD a "poor defensive rebounder"?
Scola's 10 rebounds per 40 minutes is damned good, especially since he's not the primary rebounder on the Rockets.

The Rockets are underdogs until they win, but it says something about their prospects that so many anklebiting fans are coming into this thread to talk a bunch of smack.
Go look up (and post) the 2007-08 NBA season stats between the two, and tell us again that Bass is better than Scola.
