Who says that NBA players don't care about this? Look at these guys. I'm so tired of the where people complain that they can't root for Kobe or Melo. Thats bull . They all laid it out on the line for their country and for that gold medal which should be more than enough for any American to root for them. They played with a lot of damn heart.

    This team ing kicked ass.

Meh. The US didn't really re-establish itself as the basketball power. Being in a close game against a team without arguably their best player isn't a way to close these Olympics out. They needed a 30 point blowout to shut up the critics and reclaim their past glory.

Now the rest of the world can say that if the US didn't knock down more threes than usual, didn't get a favorable whistle at some points of the game and had to go against a squad that wasn't starting a prepubescent point guard, it would have been totally different.

Nice win but the US of A is about domination ... not simply winning.

I see people comparing him to Manu, but how does he compare in crunch time?

IMO, pretty similar. Hit some big threes and was the reason they even had it within 11.

Nice win USA and very good basketball by both teams. One of the best international games
in the history (in my opinion). But it wasn“t so easy as many of you thought. After the last beating by 37 points, Streakyshooter wrote it wont be easy if two teems met in finals and boy he was right.

Congrats USA for gold and congrats Spain for really nice effort and silver medal.

The rest of the world is catching up to the USA. This isn't 1992 anymore, we can't just field a team of All-Stars and expect to dominate against teams that have been playing together for YEARS.

I'll say one thing - the US are fitting champions, but no-one is scared of them any more. And they sure as aren't a "Dream Team". There will only ever be one of those.

He, he, look how many extatic fans and supporters...and all that for some ty, good for nothing Olympic games. It's nice to see that people started to recognize the meanining of FIBA tournaments. It can only lead to more entertaining games like this, during the off season.

    Once again, congrats USA!
