Yeah, gotta give it to Kobe. Even though he hadn't been shooting great in the Olympics, in the one really close game in the second half Team USA had, you saw how he took over. And, you saw how his teammates wanted him to take over and expected and hoped he took over. As great as Wade and LeBron had played in the Olympics, this was the one game that had real pressure in the second half. That's Kobe. Still ice cold.

    Mamba.

Yeah those last 5 minutes were the reason Kobe was brought on that team, and he delivered.

I didn't start hating on Kobe until assbags like you were around slurping his as loudly as possible.

Everybody not named Wade ed up multiple times this game. Kobe is the only one that redeemed himself after those ups. And he delivered when they needed him the most.

That was ing badass the way he carried Team USA for the last 8:00 or so of the game. The US came so close to blowing that game, and Kobe completely took it over. Unforgettable performance.

Kobe went into I-wanna-be-the-hero mode. Thankfully for the US it worked out.

    Props to Kobe.

    Kobe went into I-wanna-be-the-hero mode.
The entire team went into that mode. LeBron was getting selfish at times, same with Carmelo, Wade was chucking up 3's he shouldn't have been taking. Chris Paul wasn't even passing out cuz he wanted to take shots.

And to Kobe's credit, he made some nice passes in those final minutes as well as some tough shots.

Really the only truly stupid "Kobe" shot he took in crunch time was the 3 pointer that led to the 4 point play.

Kobe led the team in assists, and most of them late in the second half.

He had one forced long three pointer and that gamble for a steal that led to the Dwight Howard foul and-one by Rudy Fernandez. Those two plays were selfish. He took over the game when others weren't, including LeBron and Wade. That's precisely what the team needed at that point in the game.

Without Kobe, this would have been a silver medal.

Wade & Lebron were "the Man" through most of the earlier games but when it mattered, Kobe sure as delivered. This was for the USA man, Kobe haters and lovers were probably cheering him on.

I ain't dissing ANY of the players, I like 'em all for the week of basketball nirvana. Mad Props to Team USA, that was an inspirational game and a win for all USA basketball fans. The team camaraderie and sportsmanship during these Olympics, best Team since Dream Team.

You can say the same about Wade too though.

Without Wade, this would have been a silver medal because when Kobe and LeBron got into foul trouble, Wade carried the team with I believe 21 points in the first half.

Definitely give props to Kobe, but he wasn't the only key to the team, even in this game. Wade was huge in the first half and Chris Bosh came up big with rebounds and free throws. And, Carmelo hit some big three pointers as well.

Considering all of Jordan's clutch moments were NBA-related, take a good look at Kobe's 4th quarter all you haters in this worldwide tournament where in the world has now caught up with the U.S. (less talent, but roughly cancelled out by months of practice and chemistry as an advantage by other teams), as being right there "clutch-wise" with anything Jordan ever did!!

Kobe was magnificant in the Fourth. It's obvious to say that without him the USA wins the silver. On a team full of the NBA's best: there was still one guy they were deferring to in cruncg time. Hopefully this lays to rest who the best player is. When yourall-NBA peers defer to you, there shouldn't really be any question who is the best; Kobe Jelly Bean Bryant, Mr. MVP Himself!!

Congrats to Team USA,and i'm proud of these boys; Kobe and Pau/ The spanish team for putting up a good fight. Nice game!!

For sure Wade did his thing and was spectacular throughout the Olympics. This in fact was a team win and mad props to the entire Redeem team.

I'm just saying, despite everything, the game went down to last minutes of the 4th. At that point, Team USA deferred to Kobe. Spain was within 6 and it could have gone either way. And its not surprising at all, I believe it really was Kobe's job on the team and as the veteran leader, bring home the Gold if it was needed in crunch time.
