I would have said Magic as well. I'm surprised that most Angelenos voted for Kobe.
Most angelenos who go on the computer are too young to know who Magic really was (myself included) and those that did are too old to know that this poll exists.
Clyde or Olijuwon... hmm...
Sir Charles OF COURSE!!!
True that a lot of the younger fans know nothing of Magic. I have shown many of youngsters tapes of magic in LA. Most of them were amazed with his skills. That poll is from the OC register not a myspace site, so I would think the older generation has ran accross this poll as well.
I like Kobe a lot but I wouldn't put him ahead of Magic. Yet,..
Don't believe Shaq was a laker in 96.
True. I assume if you were a laker and played in the olympics was the criteria.
Jerry west was drafted in 1960. He played with the collegians that year.
Shaq was traded about the time of the olympics. he never played for Orlando again.
Kobe is fresh in everyone's minds. And most people who are voting probably never even saw Magic in his prime or @ the Olympics.
I would vote for Jerry West. Magic had the AIDS at the Olympics.
no question Magic bleeds red, white and blue and a lil something else too
True but Mitch was not a Lakers player when he played in the Olympics or drafted by the lakers that season. He was a Washington Bullet.![]()
Magic at various points in his career, could have been a legit all-star at all 5 positions. Kobe can't, MJ could have been at 1,2,3 and maybe even the 4 but not the 5.
Magic
