If you were to sign Kirk Snyder you would end up regretting it more than the Bonner signing. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!![]()
With the possibility that Manu may need surgery-- which would mean missing some games in the first half of the season-- should the Spurs look to sign another wing? I think they should consider Kirk Snyder. He would be cheaper than some players with comparable stats, & he's still very young, having been drafted at #16 just 3 years ago. After being traded to Minnesota from Houston last year, he started 18 games, including his best on April 12 where he went for 22 pts, 11 rebs, 2 assists, 3 steals, and a block in 38 minutes. His rebounding ability is similar to Kelenna Azubuike's and Udoka's. He didn't take many threes last year, but shot a respectable 35% from there in the two previous years. Of the remaining free agents, I think he has the most potential upside, and would be extremely affordable. Here are some numbers comparisons:

Why? At ude problems?
Yeah but Kirk Snyder is as Dumb as they come. When he's out on the floor he seems lost and out of sync. I would cheer for him hoping he would come around only to have my hopes dashed repeatedly. The spurs are my second favoite team so I would hate for them to waste any more money. Kirk Snyder would just be a study in futility.
Snyder....NOT!!!
Azabuki....YES!!!
I unposted those starter stats cuz I couldn't fix them from being all jumbled up-- sorry 'bout that. But I think he showed progress as a starter in Minnesota last year & for a 1 year/1.9 or 2 yr/3.8 deal it would be a very inexpensive risk. That's all the Spurs have to offer right now, so there's no risk of a Bonner-type deal.
We're begging now, not choosing.
Sign him up.
It's a kind of dignified begging though, don't you think?
Bonzi Wells might have something left in the tank.
Granted it is easy to beg using $4-5 million over a couple of years.
I've begged for less.
Link to where it says Ginobili needs surgery?
The word "IF" starts the post. You saw that, right?

id rather pursure Ben Gordon
Gordon turned down a 5 year/50 mil offer-- do you think he'll sign for 1.9 mil now? Plus he's restricted.
No, Mason/Finley/Bowen/Udoka is enough.
Spurs have played full seasons with 4 wings, they can do it if Manu miss some time this season because of his injury.
Mason's the only guy capable of big time scoring but he's been pretty inconsistent. Finley of course can have some big nights but he's looked a bit old last year, I wonder how much is left in the tank.
Spurs have faced alot of scoring droughts and I don't think they have enough scoring help for TD and TP right now. This team looks alot like the Cavaliers right now, great defense but offensively challenged.
'Melo, Steve Blake, Jamaal Crawford, Linas Kleiza would be perfect for the Spurs, I just don't know how they'd get a player of that caliber.
He's a strong, athletic player who doesn't stick with teams. T-Wolves the latest to turn up their nose to keeping him. The Spurs would probably find a better 3-point shooting wing locally (one of the high schools or Gold's Gym). He could fill a slot but...he's not such a good option.
With increased playing time, which seems probable now, I think Udoka will be a pleasant surprise.
If Hairston would've taken advantage of his summer league team time better, he would've been a good option to fill the vacant slot.
you may have a point.
it seems like a lot of people have forgot about the spurs "project" in progress.
hopefully he can contribute a whole lot more next year.
Also, theres better ideas than Kirk Snyder, Snyder is a stiff.
My thoughts exactly.
, I'm still lamenting the fact that Marcus Williams turned out a dud and never got a chance to develop. How good would he (or another player of similar ilk) have looked in his 2nd year for this franchise?
Perhaps even another athletic wing player who may have been on the board at pick #33 in last year's NBA draft.
