This might be the last year we ever see him play.
I knew he wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen, but this is stupid even for him. Did the steroids kill off any remaining brain cells he might have had?
The only positive is that he's tough enough & dedicated enough to the team that he'll risk his career for a shot at the Super Bowl (unlike their pussy ass RB).
Cowboys fans rejoice at picking Ware over this re (plus Ware is a better player straight up anyways).
yup. It looked like the wrong pick in year 1 but never sense then.
Kid has got heart, but he should site out unless the Chargers are willing to insure him.
He's going to get undercut A LOT this season, and I say "a lot" presuming he makes it through a good deal of the season. He's not suiting up for 1 or 2 high stake playoff games, he's actually trying to play a FULL season in the NFL (including the playoffs) on a knee that might need reconstruction if dude gets out of bed the wrong way. Wow.....just wow.
Why? It's great for them he plays wrecks his knee then gets cut.
lol... what a ing idiot... i hope he knows he cant roid up this time, they are on to him
WAIT A DAMN MINUTE....NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THAT STUFF CAUSES BAD BREADTH!! I thought about roiding up prior to discovering this. You might draw chicks in with the muscles, but you'll run'em off with the helitosis....oh and that testicular shrinkage/impotence won't help matters either. Thanks man, you saved my romantic life.![]()

Are you ing re ed? The announcement, which is actually no surprise to me, has nothing to do with me not being in this thread. As a Charger fan, this is great news for numerous reasons, but somehow you think I'm ducking the thread?
1. With Merriman on the field the Chargers are that much better.
2. If he is injured during the season, the Chargers have a chance to extend his contract for a much lesser amount.
3. The Chargers can now offer a contract extension of a lesser amount as somewhat of a good faith gesture to thank him for risking his career to play for the team.
4. If the injury he could suffer is career threatening the Chargers can just not extend him and resign all the other key players who's contracts were ending in 09-10.
This is a win/win for the Chargers team, not so much Merriman. The guy is putting it all on the line for his teammates and I respect that a ton. It may not be the smartest move for his career, but as a fan, I love the decision.
Dirk, you are an idiot and still butthurt over last years playoffs.
Funny you bring up absences............what happened to you when the Colts were beaten by the Chargers in the playoffs last year? You were gone for at least a month.
No, not really. When I think about that, I just start thinking about things like this
![]()
no.
just accept the fact that the chargers have had quite a few season now where they were contenders and managed to all of their chances up, and now will drift back into mediocrity![]()
Championship smack is ultra lame.
Not when it's a charger fan.
Also, championship smack is spursfan forte, so i don't know what the you're talking about.
