MSNBC isn't an entire cable network ? ABC ? CBS ? NBC ? CNN? all of them are "fair and balanced?"

yeah you are right Fox being the 1 versus the 5+ networks pushing the left and the Messiah -- is not really apples to apples now is it?

You are assuming the baby is female -- it might be a he. I mean who decides for that person in the womb ?

Democrats would be wise to steer clear of comments that could be in any way construed as insulting to women, Christians, and rural towns. If this thread is any indication of how the Democrats are addressing the Palin pick you guys are going to alienate a lot of voters.

Looks like Fox News already nailed them on one of their gaffes.

My wife has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and forgot more today than you will ever know about life and the way it works. SHE believes God created everything. Stem Cell research is moving ahead just fine, btw. They are finding other sources of the little buggers without having to kill fetus's to do so.

You are about as knee jerk as I've seen.
Hey, science is fine, that's the point. Congratulations on your ing wife, hooray you!

Creationism is not quite the same thing. If your wife is some IDer, then, well, that's too bad, so long as she doesn't vote to keep people that need them to find cures for new diseases. Or try to ban their use. Which is, uhm, now a fundamental plank in the Republican platform.

    What strengths?

She governs a state with about or just less than McAllen, Texas.

The fact that the spin is about how much Executive experience she has, and that word Executive will be thrown out more than a hooker in a cheap motel up and until the election, just shows that the McCain camp is full of when they try to throw any "experience" crap at Obama.
I would spin her completely differently. I'd make her sound like a modern-day American hero: Jock turned Miss Alaska runner-up raised by a couple of school teachers, five kids - one with Down's syndrome, that governed our largest state and ''last frontier'' with an 80% approval rating, married to her blue-collar high school sweetheart, avid outdoorswoman and fitness nut, with a burning desire to govern ethically and fight corruption in government.

Hey do do brain. I brought up the FOX News network you then retort with Olberman.

That was your comparison. If you meant MSNBC, well then say MSNBC. However, I don't think MSNBC's slogan is "Fair and Balanced." Is it?

You guys just don't understand the psychology of breaking social barriers...there are certain stigmas that are behind these barriers, a lack of trust if you will, and noone that seems to live up to the stigma is going to be the one to break them.

IOW. it's going to be someone who plays against type....not someone who is reminiscent of the stereotype.

IOW...and I've said this on this forum for years now, the first female or minority to get elected President...will be a Republican. Because they'll be pulling from 2 sides...not 1 and they'll have to pull from both sides to break that barrier.

Feminist has a negative connotation to me. But maybe I am misunderstanding the definition in this case.

I don't like it when females pit themselves against men.
Some men are good/ intelligent/ kind and some are bad/ stupid/ hateful.
But, the exact same thing is true about women.

Men are not the enemy simply because they are male.
I have seen a several women, whom called themselves feminist, act that way and I think it's ridiculous.

As I stated at the beginning of this post, I am very interested to know what this canidate means when she calls herself a feminist.
Feminists believe in equality. You might have gotten a bad batch.

CNN already spun her as "a young John McCain".

    Whatever the that means.

    The small town "insult"?

That was no gaffe. That's FOX News making something out of nothing and putting it out there.

If Obama had chosen the Mayor of McAllen who had previously been the Mayor of Boerne, as his running mate, FOX News would talk to no end about what an inexperienced the VP selection was.

    You're an idiot.

There is no plank in the Republican platform that bans the use of Stem Cells for research.

What you are referring to is a plank in the Republican platform that calls for the Federal government not to FUND the procurement of Stem Cells from fetuses.

    In summary:

    Using Stem Cells = Fine
Using tax money to pay people to create and destroy Human Fetuses in order to harvest Stem Cells = Not Fine.

It is. In your own little head.

You and your republican cohorts lament Obama for his experience yet you find nothing wrong with the VP McCain chooses. You accept, choose the parts you like, gloat over said parts and then plug your fingers in your ears and repeatedly say "I can't hear you."
Awesome dead-on assessment of Republicans and Tpark.

I was making breakfast this morning and my girlfriend came into the kitchen and I told her McCain had picked Palin from Alaska, first thing she said was "Does he really think women are going to fall for that?"

I really don't see how this was anything other than McCain trying to pull away pissed off Hillary supporters from the Democrats. Just last week he's bashing Obama on experience and credentials, then picks Palin, so I would like to know how this is anything but a ploy to attract women voters

that would be because they call her a "Maverick" due to her resigning from the GOP ethics committee due to the lack of ethcis that existed at the time -- along with other instances.

Making something about nothing is what politics are all about. I'm not saying small towners should be insulted by it, I'm saying they will be.

There are more T Parks out there than you would like to think.

Because if they watch FOX News, they'll be told that's what he did. He insulted all small town people because he mentioned the VP nom was once a Mayor for a small town.

WOw -- your girlfriend is bright - She was a governor -- running the state sir with a ridiculous approval rating. She has more experience than that guy who I just realized -- looks nothing like the guy on my $5 bill.
