Of course Malone's wife also thought that he was nicknamed "The Mailman" because he was the first black postal worker in the state of Utah so perhaps everyone is getting worked up over nothing.![]()

It could be a ploy to publicly announce things like this so Utah coughs up the cash. If they know he wants to bail, they'll up the ante.

If Karl wants to put on the silver and black at a price thats affordable.....
Do it.
As long as Karl realized that he were no longer going to be the #1 option, maybe not even #2, then things would go well....
Like stated already...it would depend on his goals for the most part...
What does he want more??
A ring?
or
The record?
I'd support a Malone signing, but I'm not sure he'd be too effective. He's spent his entire career being hand fed by Stockton and doesn't really know how to be effective without his hands on the ball every time up the court. It would be a transition for him, but the Spurs could surely do a lot worse in replacing Robinson.
Rabel13 ...
Yeah, I'll agree that "If the price is acceptable" part ...
As long as the price that OUR SAN ANTONIO SPURS agree to accept is no less than $5 Million p/season from that
"Uncle Tom", "Oreo Cookie" SOB !!!!!!![]()

www.mysanantonio.com/spor...xlc=979452@Jazz, 8 p.m. Monday: The Spurs will be seeking their third straight season sweep and 13th consecutive victory over the Jazz.
Karl Malone also will have the opportunity to consult David Robinson about housing opportunities in the Dominion.(TV: KRRT)
Karl Malone![]()
Nah he doesnt belong here. He wants a le but we dont need him here. He would definitely not be the number 1,2,3,or 4 scoring guy. O'Neal is the only way to go.
proxy.espn.go.com/chat/ch...=3444da chatDerek (LA, CA): David, What's your take on the Malone & Stockton situation? Will Malone accept the mid-level exception and play for a winner? What about Stockton? Both are still playing really well despite their age. Thanks.
David Aldridge: I do not know what John is going to do, and nobody else does, either. From what he has said, it sounds like he's leaning toward retiring. I know that Karl wants to keep playing next season and I don't think he'll have any choice but to play for the exception next season. Nobody will offer him more than that.
good bump.
Always good to see who was around back then
That would have sucked having that piece of choking come here and then sit out the Finals after the team got behind in the series.
Jesus, where did you find a flux capacitor?
Actually, with the timeframe in question, this was from the old EZboard days, an imported post when the new software was brought online.
Oh at first I thought Malone was trying to make a return in the 2008-2009 season lol
you would bump this lol
Of course, that probably would have been better than, y'know, not making the Finals at all because of Malone's team ending your season.
God I hope the Spurs sign him, now they could put him on Dirk whenever they play the Mavs.
I have heard that Karl's wife has lots of family here but he could be going to work for the Spurs. They need someone to polish the trophy case with the Larry's in them.
I think it's time to kill you whoever you are...
I doubt if that's the reason why this thread was made and discussed in 03![]()
No, it wouldn't. That season ended with Karl Malone not getting a ring, so it was a win. The plus side is that I didn't have to root for the Spurs to get eliminated in order for that to happen.
