Scion is a brand by itself, not a car....
I don't know if they are good cars but my uncle who is a manager at one of the Toyota dealerships says that all the salesman have to take a course in how to sell a scion. I'm not sure what that says about the brand or car, but I find that kind of weird and interesting.
What is it national buy a new ride week in Costa Rica? You want a scooter and you're brother wants a Scion.

And yes, Toyota owns Scion so therefore Toyota makes them. They are MADE at a Toyota owned plant. Not a Scion owned plant. Its not a sister company, its a division... just like Dodge is a DIVISION of Daimler Chrysler.... or Pontiac is a DIVISION of GM. There is no indiviual "head honcho" of those divisions who can make decisions by themselves, they all go through the main manufacturer.
But then again, I dont go around saying I own a GM Camaro or a Daimler Chrysler Viper..... (not that I actually own a viper, just making a point).
Anyway.... All of the Scions are gay. but thats IMHO since they literally have no balls (HP/TQ).
If I had to choose, I would go with the tC. I test drove one with a friend when they first came out and the ride was nice back then if your into those types of cars.

So? Honda owns Accura, and you don't see people referring to them as Honda Accuras. They're just Accuras.

I have a 2006 Scion tC. The car is badass.
I have a 2007 xA that I alternate with my Expedition. I really like it, it's very zippy and I get about 30-34/mph. It's a nice size, the back seat is roomy fits 3 with good leg room. My 6'3" husband drives it comfortably with plenty of headroom. That's why we got this over any other compact car. But I just can't give up the comfort of my Expedition, esp. the quiet. The Scion is not a quiet ride.
have you ever seen a Scion dealership? Probably not since Scions are sold from Toyota dealerships since toyota makes them. I actually own a TC and on my insurance it says, TOYOTA SCION TC.
To answer the OP question i'd strongly recommend the tc or any Scion but as for any car you should probably test it yourself.
