Mario Elie not getting the love is crazy IMO. He was a vital part of the total transformation of this team from chokers to closers.
I don't know about everyone else, but I didn't vote for him because he only played ~120 games with the Spurs. Mitc averaged 20 ppg for seven years.
Mario's coming up soon on my ballot. There's no way the Spurs win in 99 without him. The team was just sleepwalking through the season until they heard him unload to NBC on that Jazz game. They got ing pissed and never let their hunger up again that season.
Holt has a strong case but I went with Mitc .
I'm not quite old enough to have been able to see and appreciate Mitc or Kenon's game, but from what I've read and heard... Both are vastly underrated and probably top ten players in terms of who you'd take in a pick-up game.
