Look at the thread les that have emerged since McCain picked Palin:

    Palin is a MILF
has Palin been in any movies?
Sarah Palin Is NOT The Mother of Trig, but rather his Grandmother
Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter is pregnant
Why Does Sarah Palin Hate America...?
Hannity berates Mic e Obama, but nobody can touch Bristol

What should have been a great moment for the Democrats has been warped into some sick sideshow distraction that is not going to hurt Sarah Palin on Nov. 4th, but rather may destroy Obama.

Obama senses this and is trying to take the heat off of her, but our media and scandal obsessed culture is sensationalizing issues that have absolutely nothing to do with where this country needs to go in the next 4 years.

The story of the weekend couldve been: "Obama grows a pair and hits back at DNC." But was more along the lines of: "Sarah Palin's down syndrome baby is pregnant with twins."

Bull . Obama is being himself it is message boards and the MSM, those liberal bas s, that are keeping this story alive.
Obama's speech will go down in history but the fact IS that we live in a "news of today" society.
    No big deal to me.

Instead of being able to reinforce the ideas he unleased at the DNC, Obama is forced to contend with this middle-school gossip bull surrounding Palin's family.

This means less opportunity for people to get to know him and more time for undecided voters to be appalled at the spectacle liberal bloggers and the media have created. This is guilt by association for Obama, and its a crying shame.

I completely agree. He is an innocent bystander. But don't you think he'd rather have reporters asking him about the cojones he showed in that speech as opposed to what he thinks about Palin's unwed daughter?

It was a big win for McCain. Brilliant job getting the speech out of the news, possibly raining on the whole DNC.

BUT, they did it so hastily they failed to vet their candidate. Now it's raining down on them.

True, but IMO, it doesn't diminish his speech in any way. I agree with Mr.Body that it was a great move by McCain but it was more of a scheduling win not something McCain orchestrated on his own.
and the fact 38 milllion, if I'm not mistaken, watched Obama's speech and while I agree it has been taken out of the spotlight I think many heard the message.

it was a really good speech and mainly because it's the first time in a long time I've heard sincere patriotism from a liberal speaker. Usually the libs are too busy accusing the military of raping and murdering or accusing republicans with starving women and children while lynching people of color. Obama stayed away from that for the most part and even almost got a USA, USA, USA chant. I appreciated the speech because he gave me hope that the democrat party isn't totally lost.

Now if he could only make sense of his policies I would vote for the dude, because he is likeable.
