She had her moments, but the start and the end were lame.
Palin rocked it! I had reservations at how well she'd do tonight, but she aced it. She came across as as an intelligent, likable running mate, and showed she's strong enough for the job.
Guarantee undecided voters, women especially, came away impressed.
She had her moments, but the start and the end were lame.
499, they threw that liberal out![]()
Three reasons:
1) Republicans don't use a quota system.
2) More blacks are democrats than republican.
3) The convention is in Minnesota, which is 89.4% causasian, 3.5% black.
Am I the only one who just heard a big democrat balloon pop?
Olbermann "People who like this sort of thing, will like this sort of thing."
Great take.
for shame
I thought she kicked ass wow![]()
Well, Mort just said it was a brilliant speech, so maybe I was wrong.![]()
Isn't Obama man enough to fight his own fights?
Ummm, are you an undecided voter? Because I am and it didn't impress. I have yet to hear anything on how they will change the direction of the country. Bob and Ron are the only people who have talked about real change but it doesn't really matter. I would at least like a new direction in the oval office and a more conservative congress. It seemed to work with Clinton more so than Pub's having control of both or the dem's having control of both.
I heard it pop as soon as I heard her name for the VP nomination!
It was a reference to a line in the speech. Were you watching?
Just caught the end of her speech...with the family onstage, I can't help to notice JM's VP choice...An attractive woman(MILF, by many a man standards...), A mother(which is a darn tough job in of itself) of a child with down syndrome, has a teenage daugther that is pregnant, member of NRA, etc.
Who couldn't identify with this woman??
Just my take...I am still contemplating who I shall give my vote to this Nov.
"We're coming to your citaaay!" At least they got me excited about college football this Saturday.
That's what I'm talkin' about.....right there!!!
I'm very much an undecided voter. Frankly, I don't like either ticket. But I am currently leaning more towards the McCain/Palin. (In part because of Palin)
I'm not on board with the Rights views of abortion, gun control, religion, gay marriage, etc etc etc ... and would from an ideological stand point, would vote Democrat. But I think the Dem's party as a whole has poor leadership, poor candidates that are too swayed by polls and not their ideals. Gore, Kerry and now Obama. I don't trust a one of them.
As for Palins performance tonight.... it was just that. If you were looking for in depth views and directions she will take, I can see why you weren't impressed. But tonight was simply a pep rally. Her 'get to know me' speech. Her opportunity to defend herself form the silliness that's been in the media the last few days about her. Just like the DNC was full of 'Eight is Enough' jabs, she took her opportunities to jab back at Obama.
I thought she did great. I don't see how anyone couldn't be at least somewhat impressed by her. She cool and confident, and people can relate to her on different levels. She came out on the big stage, and nailed it.
I'll be curious to see how she does in the upcoming weeks and months. While facing more intense pressure. The Biden/Palin debate should be good.
Tomorrow will be the final test of the man they call.....John McCain.
I am a MILF and a mom and I do not identify with her at all.
I found her to be highly sarcastic and I can not stand that. I would not tolerate it in my child and I surely do not want it in my leaders.
Rudy F'ing Giuliani.
Sarah. Palin.
I can agree with that. As an independent though I'm tired of these damn tatics of dividing people up to win elections. Please stop this .
She did a great job of feeding the crowd exactly what they wanted to hear but it didn't speak to me at all. I don't think republicans are taking into account the reason people want to vote for Barrack Obama. People think he's charming and like him. Trying to tear him down isn't going to work. They should have been a little more on side of the "we're willing to work with the other side as well."
Biden is going to murder her. She really opened the door for him with her aggressiveness tonight. He won't have to hold back.
I used my wife as a barometer for Palin's speech. My wife is not too in to politics, but she has decent instincts. When I was a Deaniac in 2004, she kept telling me that Kerry would get the nomination. Then during the general election, she kept telling me that Bush would win. This election, she likes Obama (then again I'm constantly taking him up), but is intrigued by Palin and remarked that she could see herself voting for someone like Palin.
On Palin's speech -she enjoyed the biographical part of the speech and kept commenting on the family during the cutaways. She enjoyed Palin talking up McCain. She did not, however, like the sarcasm and aggressive tone Palin displayed. By the end of the speech, she said that Palin was "different than she thought she'd be" and "too sarcastic."
Again, not a very political person, just a casual observer's take.
I am a MILF you think so
Good don't vote for her.
