Do you run your Mustang at the track?

I've been wanting to make another trip to Marion but haven't had the time. I'd like to put my Corvette on the track but I need steering and suspension before I toss it out there.
My 5.0 hasn't been to the track, but it's going to be really slow when I go. It's a stock '90 LX hatch with an automatic. I like it more than any car I've ever had, but I have no illusions that it could crack 9 seconds in the 1/8 mile. I'm definitely not going to beat on it like I did the Mach, at least until I can get a lot of stuff updated on it. I live in Dallas so I've got a lot of tracks to go to.

I love those Mustangs. I owned a 90 GT about a decade ago. Funniest car I've ever driven. I put a ton of money into it but could never get it down under 12.7's. I ran a 98 Camaro for the longest time then got out completely. I picked up the Vette in January as a second daily driver. Its older 79 so its more of a project.

I'll be looking for a 69-70 Mach 1 or 67-69 Camaro once next summer roles around.

I also got a 71 Ford F-100 Custom I've torn completely down. Its my long term project....5-6 years out.

Just got past the tear down. Gonna epoxy primer the frame and start from scratch. Upgrade to power steering and front disk brakes. Hopefully we'll see a 351 and 5 speed in it. I'm not going to completely hotrod it more like a daily driver with balls. The last picture is what I have in mind as far as stance and style even though its a different year.

The power will easily eclipse a typical vette and the Hemi will challenge the Z models.

I think the standard engine on the new Corvettes is 430 HP.

He's had plenty of other cars since he hit money, including a Porsche Carrera that he bought overseas from a factory and had shipped home. I'm sure he buys anything he wants and like he's shown us over the years, he's not about impressing anyone.

Very nice. The '64 is my second favorite.

This topic now officially has nothing to do with the Spurs anymore.

Yeah they made a big leap. The 'vettes get a little more world class with each new model. My favorite is the C3. I don't care if they're slow.

Thats why I bought my 79'. Its a built 350 using a 73 camaro block. Just a little bit more powerful that the stock stuff but I'm not blowing the doors off anything.

still working out some wiring under the hood.

Thats pretty sweet B2B...That has always been my favorite body style of Vette. Its kind of that in between style that bridges the old stingrays and what we had in the early 90's.

So it's a short bed with a straight six and a 9" rear. That's a stump puller. No trim, so it's not a Ranger, right? Glad someone put that tape deck in there while they were letting it rust. Did you know that there's a law on the books that old Ford trucks with bench seats have to have that woven seat cover?

LOVE the 'vette. Saw a black one just like it up here yesterday. Very cool. If I didn't need four seats for the kids I'd have considered one of those instead of the 5.0.

    Nice car.

My GTR has 417 hp at all fours. R34 Skyline. Ive never actually taken it to a drag stip but ive taken it out a couple of times to back roads we measured out the 400 ourselves and i got it to about 12.4. Stock they come in at about 13.5 but thats with just 280 hp at the engine and 1500 kg

It be interesting to know what Timmy's would do down the quarter... how much do those things weigh?

Stock weight is 3720. I would guess Duncan's would weigh below 3500.

    EDIT: I found more info.

    0-60 in 3.8
Quarter mile in 11.9 with a top speed of 121mph.

    Stock info:
I did find that stock SRT8 does a quarter in 13.2.

Powering the Dodge Challenger R/T is a revised 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine producing 370 horsepower (276 kW) with a five-speed automatic, and 375 hp (280 kW) with a six-speed manual transmission. The engines belt out 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) and 404 lb-ft (548 Nm) of torque, respectively; the Challenger R/T can do 0-60 in under six seconds, bone stock. Gas mileage is not bad given the power, with 16 mpg city, 23 highway (automatic; the manual transmission drops down to 15 city, 23 highway due to the loss of MDS, and requires premium rather than midgrade gas). The Challenger SE is rated at 18/25.
