How come when that protester for Iraq Vets stood up and held his sign, people rushed to take it away from him? Is that really what the Republican party wants to do is strengthen the beliefs some people have of them as war mongerers? Seriously, the guy wasn't obstructing anyone's view and he wasn't yelling- he just stood off to the side and held his sign 'McCain Votes Against Iraqi Vets' in silence; and the second he did, guys in suits came up to try to rip it away from him. Instead the crowd retaliated with a lame "USA, USA, USA" chant. It seriously looked like a crow of rich white people that have never met anyone that is actually serving over in Iraq- all their kids are off at Private schools getting ready to make millions.
I know there were others that were anything but silent, and that was uncalled for, but this instance I thought was in bad taste, and it made it look like Republicans are scared of criticism- even if it is warranted

PBS showed very little of the incident.
I thought Senator McCain was very good humored about the whole thing.
From what I saw, there was no need to remove the protestor. But like I said, I was at the mercy of PBS' coverage.
I couldn't really tell what was going on.
I loved how some of the delegates chanted USA USA USA everytime McCain starting sounding like a pussy and sounding like the left.
It doesn't take much for McCain to go from boring to awkward.
NBC showed the protester I'm talking about 5 or 6 times. When they initially showed him some guy in a suit was trying to tackle the sign away from him. He was wearing a 'Iraqi Vets Against the War' shirt. He wasn't yelling or drawing attention to himself, just standing there fighting off people trying to take him out
Ummmm. They chanted U.S.A. every time the protesters started yelling to drown them out; had nothing to do with McCain's speech.
...all 499 delegates.
That's what it looked like, but long after the protester was dealt with they kept doing it stopping McCain from speaking (which he obviously wanted them to STFU).
When he starts winking every 1.5 seconds you know he is lost.
How deep into your colon did you have to pull THAT out?
Palin and McCain's kids are serving or going to serve into Iraq.
Fail.
It appeared as though the Iraq War vet was allowed to even stay for a bit, but I might be wrong.
He was.
The only one that was ejected was the whacko running down the aisle shouting like a stupidass.
Great response by McCain though![]()
I was speaking of the whole crowd that would chant USA USA USA over the protesters or tackle the protesters down. I never said "John McCain tried taking the protester down" It was the people in the crowd around him that tried taking his sign and tried forcing him to sit down
