We have a new one in the yard! Now this one isn't so re ed. It actually built a big nice web that looks really cool. I haven't named it yet and have yet to decide on if it's a boy or a girl. But it once again is an Orb Web Spider as mentioned in my other threads.
Here is the original one still there in my storm window:
This new one is a pretty good size too. I was walking the dog and I noticed it. It was spinning its food into a web and then I watched it crawl into the tree and place it in it's super top secret hideout for later consumption.
I am slowly starting to get more comfortable with these ugly creatures. I would still freak out if it jumped on me but I got real close to take the pics. But yeah I cropped them.
I thought about fetching this one and putting it in the storm window with the other one to have a death match but I didn't.
edit* OH I just realized. The one in my window has been there a long time, and its ass is huge. I think it's going to have babies in my window! !!!
And I used to think you were cool...

You can name them Doug and Steve.
that first looks huge when you compare it to the stairs.
Now you have 2 pet spiders. And if your guess is right you'll soon be raising a family. Congrats.

nah it's a good 20 yards from the stairs.
Oh shut up!! If I can get her to come out of the corner and see that her butt or w/e it's called is in fact bigger than normal, I will get a long (and I mean long) stick and make her attach to it and move her into the woods.
what? sorry i missed the question
Be sure to record the move, I expect to see it on youtube.
I don't make videos.
I'll just mail it to you instead.![]()
Hopefully your Orb Spider doesn't so big it's able to eat a bird.
