It's interesting to hear what Whitlock said and hear everyone psycho-analyze Vince Young like they can pinpoint the cause of this. I mean, the world is made up of what 7-8 billion people. There is going to be a percentage--no matter what sample (whether field, race, religion, nation, city or any other categorization)--of people that have some sort of problems mentally and/or emotionally. It's not mainly because he was raised by women or had no father figure early in his life. He could very easily just be in that small percentage of people that get depressed, can't handle certain pressures or stresses in life. I think it's wrong for people to assume it's his upbringing or it's somehow the fault of his mother or the influence of friends. If those were really big factors, it's hard to believe he'd have gotten to where he is now, a multi-millionaire athlete playing at the highest level of compe ion in football.
It's unfortunate that whatever he's going through may jeopardize his once very promising career, but some of these people that are spitting out theories need to let it play out and relax on the "single parent" or "from the ghetto" stereotypical propaganda of the black athlete.
What difference would that make honestly?

Looking at all that would distract him. Plus gays are sensitive. The reports say his feelings get hurt when he gets boo'd. Thats not good. Sounds like he sucks .
