No good can come when a leader promotes this kind of hate.

actually he took the insults one step further.

in spanish: "Yankees de mierda pueden irse al carajo 100 veces...bla bla bla"
meaning something like " ing yankees go yourselfs 100 times".

I never saw a president talk like that against another country. One thing is criticize an ideology and another is talk trash like you were in a bar.

I imagine this is the kind of speach Hitler gave to the german people to fire them up and fill them with hate. And when a leader does that nothing good can come with it.

Chavez will be relevant when he stops exporting oil to the U.S.

Until then it's just empty rhetoric.

Meh, it's one thing for a world leader to say a bunch of hateful things about America.

It's another when a world leader lies to Americans in order to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

Guess which I find more deplorable?

This guy is a nut case. He thinks members of the New Tribes Mission are CIA agents. As for Bush, you can say the same thing about FDR when the Army Air Force firebombed Dresden and Hamburg.

Nobody is going to defend Chavez' rant as admirable, but just take a second to put this in context. Did anybody die because of this? Did anybody get screwed out of their job? Did anybody get tortured? Did a nation get invaded? Did anything significantly negative happen as a consequence of his rhetoric? The answers are, no, no no, no & no. Your outrage could be focused on much better things than the insignificant rantings of an irrelevant third world politician.

What are your entire thoughts on Chavez, from his attempts at domestic reforms, to his foreign policy near and abroad?
