Sell them to the Lowe's in Houston.

Wind starting to pick up in North Dallas.
The 1900 Hurricane Memorial in Galveston is still standing, just missing it's bronze plaque.
My parents said that it looks like a bomb went off in their backyard - the fence lining the whole north side of the house and the tree by it are decimated, and they expect to be without power for at least a week. Thankfully, the house and everyone in it are okay. They lost power before the Geraldo Death Vigil, so I got to fill them in on that bit.
They're rescuing people off rooftops in Port A
I'm watching the weather channel and they've been periodically interviewing the people who decided to stay and ride out the storm. They just had a guy on there and when the interviewer asked him why he stayed - this was his answer: "I stayed because I wanted to surf the next day." WTF
Way to look like a total idiot on national TV! The woman interviewing him didn't even know what to say - she just looked at him. And then he said I know, I know it was stupid and I'll never do it again.
She then told him - I think your life is more important than a good wave!![]()
Looks like the Pier shops and resteraunts that were in Galveston are completely gone.
Yeah that was a complete trainwreck, I had to turn the channel after I saw that..
I'm alive ... just wanted everyone to know.
Okay, so that's one place we won't loot.
It's really clear here with no wind at all. Are we going to get any bad weather at all?
Good to knowThanks for checking in.
Nope. Too far east.
I'm in Arlington and all we got was some rain - and not even heavy rain.
I saw on TV that they're now concentrating on a massive search and rescue. Those stupid people who refused to obey the mandatory evacuation should be left right where they are! Maybe next time they'll listen!
Agreed. From a friend of mine in the Woodlands, they said that 2/3 of the major power transmission lines in the Woodlands have been destroyed, going to take weeks to get the power back on there.
And that's about 50 miles inland. Just think about Galveston, etc. It's like these people thought the storm would blow threw, they'd have a tree or two down, and have power and water back the next day. Stupid.
Anyone know if College Station got any significant damage? One of my best friends goes to A&M and he works for the their police department. I havent been able to get a hold of him at all over the last 24 hours and I am kinda worried. He never has his cell off but that hasnt been the case over the past day.
ing Ike heading for me here in Arkansas. The is wrong with you Texas? Keep to yourself!!!
...and now the recovery and piecing together of what remains.

They just interviewed some people that stayed that had to be rescued on one of the Htown news channels.
Reporter: "why did you stay?"
Idiot: "we had no idea it would be this bad"
Reporter: "Did you not hear all the warnings to evacuate leading up to the storm, the mention of certain death if you stayed, etc.?"
Idiot: "Well, we heard them, but we really didn't think it would be this bad."
Reporter just shook her head and threw it back to the studio.
ing idiots...
You are so right - no words to describe this kind of stupidity! I say send everyone of those morons a bill for the rescue!
I am all for that, and put it (billing those who stayed) front and center on the news.
They were interviewing a dead person?
Awesome!
I was being facetious![]()
