I remember the media did a story on Palin's circle of friends. When asked who would they vote for, only one of the 5 said they would vote for Palin/McCain. The 4 others said that they had not made up their minds or they prefer to keep it private. I found that strange. If it were one of my good friends, I would not hesitate to say that I would be voting for he/she.
