Dallas D has their 2008 coming out party tonight. They played a good game against Cleveland, but tonight is where they show they are top 2 or 3 defense in football. If Newman plays and is healthy, Eagles score no more than 13 pts. If Newman is a scratch, then 17 pts.

The Dallas D is the Difference in this game.
good call on this one. they were monsters on the defensive side tonight.

the only difference I saw was McNabb morphing into Tavaris Jackson.

So the pressure on the last drive and the sack made no difference?

    it was 4th and 17...

    Who are you kidding.

The pressure was great, but McNabb had 2 easy first downs if he just tucks and runs. Instead he dilly-dallys around and gets himself in trouble cuz he couldn't make a decision.

The Dallas defense also wasn't responsible for him completely overthrowing a wide open Westbrook, or gagging on that handoff.

it was probably an early apology for how much he'll be blowing Favre next week.

They disappointed, but they didnt give up 37 pts. They gave up 23 and Romo/refs gave the eagles 14.

That said, the defense only gave up 7 in the 2nd half and were in McNabbs grill constantly in crunch time. They stepped up while the offense ran over the eagles in the 2nd half.

    Those are "if's"....

    and overthrowing?

it happens.. I was hoping for an interception on that one... but that didn't happen...

the handoff was obviously confusion, but it didn't decide the game..

And Dallas defense was pressuring him all night, or atleast trying to... he just got away from it often... other times he didn't choose well... it happens.

The thing is he had enough time to win it for his team... and the defense was too much for him... that's it...

    no Tavaris Jackson bs.

The last play was drawn, it wasn't a last second thing.

Yeah as in "if" he made the right decision with the football. He consistently made the wrong decision on that final drive, and it had nothing to do with the defense. The defense consistently gave him an easy and smart option to take, and McNabb flat out choked and couldn't make a decision at all.

Its a great win when you can personally spot the eagles 14 pts and still beat them. Huge win. Gotta use this as a launching pad and clean up the stupid ass mistakes to become the undisputed best team in football. The only team that can beat the Cowboys is the Cowboys, but they are damn good at doing it.

this was a win in the coaching department. this was not a win in the statistic department. i wouldn't be too big headed with this victory. we got the W and that is definitely what matters. i wouldn't be too y next time. barber needs to pull his head out of his ass or he should tell the staff he can play when he feels 100%.
    Woooooooooooo, ........woooooooooooooo.

McNabb and Nowitzki are almost soul mates in different sports. They're both incredibly talented, uniquely skilled, and pretty good leaders. Unfortunately they have really spotty records when it comes to clutch play. Sporadic flashes of brilliance in crunch time, mixed in with an unfortunately large amount of choking.

The reason he didnt throw the ball down field? The defense covered the receivers. McNabb could have scrambled, but wouldnt pick up the yards needed while keeping the clock running. The defense stepped up in 4th quarter.

McNabb had about 15 yards of daylight twice on that final drive. Getting a first down with the clock running is better than dancing around for 10 seconds before getting blasted by Ware.

Dallas brought some heat, but they left a lot of holes on the field that McNabb could have taken advantage of.
