the Cowboys
Witten for 100 yards and 2 TD's![]()
Eagles win. Donovan does a monday night commmercial with Niccolette Sheridan too.
Eagles 24, Cowboys 14. Romo won't have the luxury of standing around and looking for his 3rd or 4th WR like he did with the Browns. The Eagles blitz more than another team in the league and they've always given Romo problems. Plus we have 3 Pro Bowl CBs (Samuel, Shepperd and Brown) that can cover TO an Whitten. The only problems will be Barber and Jones, each of whom could punish the Eagles inside.
actually, I have Jones, so I'm not going to go so far as to root for injury... but the way Barber runs, and those already hurting ribs... I think he's going to struggle to stay healthy this year
i just think the eagles are a better football team. The Cowboys are one of the most talented teams that I have ever seen, but mentally, they are just like the mavericks... once the pressure is on, they crumble. they lack killer instinct. no one is afraid of the Cowboys. everyone knows they are a good, but no one really fears them.
Eagles exposed as a mediocre offense that's all Westbrook. Lack of receivers hurt them tonight, and McNabb gets Mc ed.
Yes sir!! the Cowgirls.
Cowgirls!!!!! Bwaaaaaaaaa hahahahahahahahahahahaha
you sir, keep bringing the funny!![]()
Sorry Cowboy fans but I'm drinking the Philly Eagles Kool-Aid. Either way, this is going to be a great game. I'm gonna go ahead and say that the Super Bowl winner is playing tonight. Don't know which of these two it will be, but I see them beating whoever comes out of the AFC.
MMQB
Who I Like Tonight, and I Mean Tony Kornheiser
Cowboys 28, Eagles 23. But ... Donovan McNabb is 10-5 lifetime against Dallas (4-3 at Texas Stadium), and, feeling lousy last year, threw for 208 yards in a 10-6 win over Dallas in December. If I were the Cowboys, that would worry me.
McNabb put up 38 points last week against the Rams (OK the Rams) and looked like vintage McNabb. With one exception -- he ran only once, for three yards. And in his conference call with Dallas reporters the other day, he said, "There's no 14-second scrambles with me anymore. I drop back, get the ball out of [my] hands and let my receivers work.''
I pick Dallas because I think Dallas is the best team in the NFC right now. But what's important in this game, as Bill Cowher used to tell his Steelers, is to withstand the early barrage of emotion from the Cowboys and noise from the fans. By late in the first quarter, it will be a football game, not a frenzied pit bull attack. McNabb's the kind of player who can ignore all the stuff swirling around at the start of the game, settle his team down and be sure that the best team wins. That's the most troubling thing for the Cowboys tonight, that the stage won't be too big for the other quarterback.
I think that’s the one thing we can all agree on Mono…going to be an awesome game.
Homer....Lakers fan too. Riding the two biggest bandwagons in the country.
Seconded...30-24 Eagles. All they have to do is just run a bunch of pattens Roy Williams direction and they should be fine.
I think a lot of you are selling the Eagles very short...
They were an 8-8 team last year. They were 6th in total offense and 10th in total defense last year. They had several significant injuries, such as McNabb, Sheppard, Dawkins, and L.J. Smith. They lost 4 games by a 3 point margin (1 loss came from a last second FG, another came from Akers missing a last second FG, another was the game against NE where they didnt have McNabb, and the game against the Bears where Griese had that fluke 97 yard GW drive). They had another 4 point loss to the Seahawks where they again did not have McNabb and needed a last minute interception to win it. The Eagles finished the season with 3 very solid wins, including a game where they completely shut the Cowboys down.
They have added a blazing fast, playmaking special teams and WR threat in DeShawn Jackson (although right now they are missing their top 2 WRs). McNabb is in the best shape he has ever been in. They boosted up their secondary by adding Asante Samuel (whom i feel is overrated, but still a very solid corner, particularly in zone coverage which is what the Eagles needed help for in the secondary) so now they have 3 Pro-Bowl corners, along with a healthy Dawkins who is still a premier FS. Patterson and Bunkley have been developing and are looking very solid at stopping the run which was the Eagles biggest previous weakness (Eagles finished 7th last season in this area).
They have improved in pretty much all their main areas of weakness (special teams, run defense, playmaking reciever, secondary depth). They have really no glaring holes, other than the chance for injury. Don't sell these guys short...
So what. I like the Cowboys, Lakers, and Yanks. but i kinda like the Red Sox too.
Woot! E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!! EAGLES.........
TO talking all sorts of trash, sounds like he hasn't gotten over his relationship with McNabb.![]()
This statement alone gives you a stereotype reprieve. Plus I have read other posts you have written so I wouldn't say the same about you anyway.
I said that mostly because of the ridiculous score he posted. That coupled with being a Lakers fan really gave the bandwagon impression. I know that all Cowboys and Lakers fan are not bandwagoners...but there is a contingency of them that tend to ruin it for the rest.
