I don't know why you all are giving the original poster such a hard time. I thought it was pretty obvious at the time of the draft that he does know George Hill. He might not be on the phone everyday with him, but I think they are friends.

Me and George met in 1997 when we were 10 and 12 years old at a local rec league basketball gym, known as TAB.. We lived within a block of each other and the church and became close friends and played ball 12 hrs a day every day... hill was struggling at the middle school he was going to which was a rough and mediocre inner school, where fights broke out daily.. I was homeschooled at the time for the same reason, my parents moved into the inner city when I was 6 years old to help under privileged youth..

Hill homeschooled with me for a year and a half, which gave me and hill the opportunity to finish our homework very early in the day and go play ball deep into the night.. George played basketball at St. Richards a private catholic school in Indianapolis who allowed him to play even though he didn't go there... He then moved on to Frederick douglass to finish his 8th grade.. Before his freshman season, George and I traveled to UCSB campus in Cali to attend MJ flight school, where George earned recognition from MJ as one of the better young players he had ever seen.. george beat jordan in a shooting contest and was 2 time MVP of the camp for the 2 weeks there.

He went on to play his rookie season of high school at Broad Ripple High school where he made varsity, but did not play much on the senior dominated team.. My father became asst. varsity coach to Coach William Smith, who coached at broad ripple for 20+ years, and such players as Mike Woodson, Smith is now a scout for the Hawks or as of my last information on him. Smith retired from BRHS after Hill's senior year. Seehttp://spurstalk.com/forums/showthre...=100376&page=2 for more information on Hill's high school career.

Me and george were like brothers growing up and he comes by and visits when he has free time and is in town... I could give a about his contract and his money, I want him to be the player he was born to be.. I hope he has a long successful NBA career.. I could give a flying if you negative tools dont believe i know Hill... I don't want a medal for knowing him. or e-respect.. I just figured somebody on here would find the information I have about him interesting.. and I guess when I searched for a spurs fan forum the night he was drafted to see what they were saying about my friend.. I felt l should humanize George to the forums against all the mid-major player, high draft pick hate.

We all wait to see what George will amount to... hes incredibly athletic and talented, its up to him to prove himself and make it at the NBA level.

Bravo, very well said. Don't let the small sample of people on here that are d-bags speak for everyone. Any and all information is appreciated and even if it is speculation, that would only make you and your info like 99.99% of everyone else on here.

I put a question mark on the post because, I hadn't bothered George for the info personally, I know everybody and their mother is asking him the same damn everyday , and hes prolly tired of it... So I just took what one of my best friends told me as fact.. but until I see it on NBA.com or a credible press info.. I'm not going to put my foot in my mouth... because im only as good as my word and im not going to to come on here and spout random conjecture... also george saying 4 year contract is a question because he may have a 4 year contract in some way.. but obviously the spurs must have options on year 3 and 4 on a rookie contract.. I just have a very abstract number ..

I think there are a lot of us that do find the info you've shared with us since draft night interesting. Please keep us posted on anything you can. I think the posters that don't believe you are just more vocal than those of us that do. But we're here, we're listening, and we appreciate you joining ST.

I hope he does prove it. I like his character, I think he's a good fit for the team. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the court.

A quick look back at your last 10-15 posts, Spurs da champs, reveals that you basically have nothing positive to offer to the Forum. I challenge you to bring something worthwhile. You can do it!!!

    Jay is "good people".
Thanks. I'm not trying to insult the guy but seriously I don't believe him it just pisses me off when people make up that is not true.

And believe once the season starts you all will see a difference in post quality.

I have started some good threads, The NBA conspiracy " fixed for lakers and celtics" and the Shaq or D Rob thread.

All this bull propaganda pisses me off tho you all need to get this in your heads that Greg Hill sucks.

That the spurs are making horrible decisions draft wise and free agency wise.

They waste they're draft picks on nobodies and people who likely are going to start playing for them in their 30's.

I guarantee the spurs are not going to win a championship if they don't make any drastic changes now.

Manu sucks, TD is old, TP ain't going to do on his own.

They can trade Manu while he is still worth something and get rid of Tony.

Now if only he could just hit a shot once in awhile.

I really thought Hill looked good (besides the shooting). His shot looked fine, it just was not falling. He also got to the rim pretty easily and he defended well. I would not mind seeing him play.

Can't wait til he shuts all the ing doubters on here with incredible play in the preseason, and maybe see some time as SG with the Manu void Pop will have to fill. If Mason, and Udoka will get the majority of those, AND Finley loses minutes like most of us want him to, someone else will need to take at least 10-15 minutes so Mason isn't playing 30 a game right off the bat.

Who knows, there might be a trade in the works.

btw. guess who are the only not yet signed 2nd rounders from the 2008 draft.
it's the two Ducks, Hairston and Leunen. all others already signed with their NBA team or went to Europe. (or already were under contract with an Euro team). according to the Rockets, Leunen also is destined to Europe.
so the only unsigned draftees are Hill AND Hairston.

maybe RC has something like a signing blockade?
I mean, writers have writing blockades all the time, why shouldn't a manager have a signing blockade?

Jayc, don't feel like you constantly need to keep explaining yourself to some of these posters on the board.
You made your point the first time, and I'm sure there are plenty of people here who believe you....just like there will always be the jerks who feel the need to make a negative comment each and every time.
