We get offers quite regularly. We have been offered everything from us still running it and get money from all the ads they want to put up, to someone flat out buying it and doing with it what they will. Most potential buyers want us to sign a three-year non-compete for the sale ... meaning that I (or timvp or anyone on our behalf) would agree not to run a forum, website, whatever related to the Spurs or basketball for three years. Sure, there's ways around that, but it's still a sticky point.
We (with the help of everyone here, obviously) grew SpursTalk up from nothing. So for me it's a sentimental/principal thing more than anything. I don't want to sell it and watch someone else run it into the ground. That might sound lame to a lot of people, and I'm definitely not against making money. But ST isn't for money for me, it's just a fun outlet that I created for myself and for the community. The beginnings were rough here. I posted over 100 times a day (literally) to get the discussion going. When you pour your heart into something, it's hard to sell out.
When we install the arcade and add other extra things to the site, I will probably put some small ads in limited areas of the site (not in the Spurs forum) to get some money back. We will never come close to breaking even, unless I flood it with ads and I refuse do that. In a few years when the Spurs inevitably have some down years, you guys will probably all bail

then I will wish I would have sold out
