Sorry to hear man. Hopefully my Elite never gets it.
He said he broke the Microsoft seal voiding any warranty he had.

No work was done, they just put the fan on high to keep it cooler. No overheating = No RoD![]()

I actually think they cleaned the fan and dust out, it had that clean smell to it when I took it out of the box.
might as well throw some thermal paste on the chip while you're at it, if it was an overheating problem. it's cheap.
Why did you buy an elite? If you aim right they will go wortwortwort and die.
If you end up buying a new one and don't care about the HDMI, don't buy an elite or premium. Buy an arcade model and then buy a 120 GB hard drive for it. Essentially, it'll be an elite for about $50.00 less.

Well if I get a new one it'll be the arcade version and I'll use my old hard drive.
Damn there are some huge nerds in here.
Cause 20 gigs suck ass for a hardcore gamer
You done ed up. You had another year of warranty coverage on that system.
Wtf!?!?
What kind of wigwog invalidates his own warranty?
Rod Benson fixed his own Xbox.

I was in a fit of rage. So I started taking the thing apart. Its not like I had a reciept or anything either. it I'm going to try and fix it tonight and if I can't I'm just going to have to borrow some money from Jim or CC.
It all goes by the code on the back of you're 360.
I am so over the shark. I had to google this to figure out WTF you guys are talking about.
I took everything apart and the chip was set fine. I cleaned everything off and the system actually boots up now. The fans are extremely noisy and after a minute or so I get two red rings on the left and it shuts off.
Looks like I'm gonna have to get a new one.
So the moral of the story here is...if something is broken, you're not going to fix it by breaking it?
Ps3 :d
good news go get a new Xbox 360 arcade for $199 and move your hard drive over (assuming you have a premium)
