adidas Holiday 2008 Basketball Collection

After stressing team and brotherhood throughout last year’s regular season and building from the success of the TS Litespeed and TS Pro Model, adidas will launch their newest TS offerings on the feet of seven of their greatest assets this upcoming NBA season, with their other endorsed athletes wearing team colorways. Rather than have players of all positions wear one individual shoe as they did with the TS Litespeed, this time there are two models being worn, one for guards and forwards, the other for power players and centers.
Tracy McGrady (Houston Rockets), Leandro Barbosa (Phoenix Suns), Chauncey Billups (Detroit Pistons) and Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards) will be seen in the TS Creator, while Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics), Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs) and Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic) will rock the TS Commander, all in jersey specific colorways and with each player’s signature or personal touch along the heel of their shoe.
Similar to the TS Pro Model, the Creator and Commander feature adidas’ Select System, which allows the wearer to select between two insoles: Select Cushion, upgraded with adiprene+ inserts for added response, and Select Clima, full of perforations for greater breathability. The sculpted sockliner is also entirely removable for those who rely on a personalized orthotic.
The Creator, aimed at guards and swift forwards, implements the familiar three stripes along the upper as a forefoot support overlay integrated into the outrigger. The shoe is also treated with a modified return of Formotion at the heel, which aims to provide low-to-the-ground court feel as well as improved transition. Unlike Formotion’s original podular configuration first seen in the Gil-Zero and TMac6, a singular piece of the working system can be found on the medial side of the heel.
The Commander offers a rubberized herringbone patterned ankle strap to support those with larger frames hitting the hardwood, and also features a wider base for the big man. The version worn by KG en route to his first ever NBA Championship during the 2008 NBA Playoffs features a gradient fade along the upper — pretty hot. Both the Commander and Creator share an abstract flowing pattern along the midfoot — a nice added design detail.
For now, it appears Gilbert Arenas will be sticking to his preferred low-cut height, though it looks like he won’t be cleared to hit the hardwood til as late in the season as January after undergoing a minor cleaning out of some excess debris in his left knee. (Sounds like a terrible operation.) Agent Zero will be wearing the TS Creator next season in his familiar Wizards colors as well as a black/white/gold Retro Nights colorway.
There’s several other offerings aside from the TS line-up from adidas this basketball season, like the more casual friendly Chillrahna and the 2G08 Workout. The definite gem is the Lux Mid though, and I can’t wait to see The Three Stripes take this silhouette further into the casual realm with some buttery leathers and rich suedes as the model has tons of potential. Be on the lookout for the ensuing shoes to begin hitting your nearby adidas retailers like Foot Locker and catalogs like Eastbay beginning in the middle of October.

It is a thing of beauty!
When is it available in the international market? Asia?
Top one is the best. TD doesn't wear the bottom ones on the court I bet you everything I have.
I like the first ones too. And you're right, Duncan only plays in shoes that have the ankle support. As far as I know, any involvement he's had with the designs of his shoes always focuses on his ankles first.
Exactly.![]()
Not sure, this is the only article I've found so far. Can you order them through catalogs?

Black ones are sweet!
I like the fact that ADIDAS has given him a team shoe as well as a signature shoe. Still wont get them because they are ADIDAS, but props to him nonetheless.
Those are wack...really....They look like kicks from the early 90's.
Damn they messed up on this shoe. Looks like it can't decide if it's a retro shoe or a generic typical bball shoe.

The bottom two are sweet, the top one looks like it has croc skin or some .
Team Signature.
This is a great looking shoe. I might just get me a pair.Commander TD - 1.1.2009

The first one is OK. I don't like the other two.
I like the first one too.
The second one is a good looking shoe.
I might buy it if it's under $50.
I like that I don't see a "TD" or a "21" on it.
