Tony was amazing tonight but he can't do it alone against a solid team like Turkey.

And, when you are down by one, with 19 seconds left... how can you have Tony not even touching the ball on the play... how De Colo can give it to Diawara (not exactly a great shooter) for a contested 3 pointer, with nobody in position for a rebound...

It sucks. About ten players have turned it down the NT and the pool of quality player wasn't deep enough to be qualified.

@ players who turned down the NT this summer mainly because playing a qualification tournament wasn't good enough for them.

The NBA should also have a clear stance on international games. Right now, teams aren't allow to forbid players to play but they did it and there are also insurance troubles.
Either the NBA decides that NBA players must play international games (teams can't forbid them to play with theirs NT and insurance are paid by the NBA) or the NBA forbid players to play with theirs NT.

Next summer France will have to play an additional qualification tournament. Only one team will be qualified and there will have some good team like Italia. It won't be easy and there will have some schedule conflicts.

the good news for Spurs' fans (so for myself too) is that Parker will be in great shape to carry the team at the start of the season while Manu will be out. He also come back to SA healthy.

he make 2 3pts in 6 s just before the last minute (73-74) but he never see the ball for a shoot after Decolo was very bad at the end of the

As Bruno said : next summer France will have to play an additional qualification tournament... and Tony will play it !
And if France is qualified for the Euro 2009, he will play it also !
So, i don't think it's a good news for the Spurs.

but Bruno can't imagine that Israel will win by 37 with the french team result they must win less than 27

Fair enough. Was the Israel game first or the France game first? Why was Turkey even trying in this game? (I'm assuming they tried since they won but maybe not)

    At the same time.

I haven't watch the game but Turkey played without Hedo (as I've predicted )

Wow. So Turkey wasn't trying and France still lost? I think France should forget about the WC and start trying to plan for the Olympics. If not 2012, I'm pretty sure Paris will be a frontrunner for 2016 . . .

This current team is getting worse, not better -- judging by the results of this tournament. If Parker hadn't played in this tourney, France likely would have gone winless. Even with Parker have a very good game, they couldn't be a not trying Turkey.

Start by getting a coach who understand the value of passing the ball. Get commitments from top players and starting working on the necessary insurance now. If France isn't going to do that then they need to stop wasting Parker's time.

No, it won't. There is now an unwritten rule saying that consecutive game can't be on the same continent and despite what whottt is saying, England and France are on the same continent. Paris could have a shot for the 2024 Olympics games.

Agree. They need to build a project with the 2012 Olympics games as goal. Parker wants to do like Americans did with the redeem team. Other players and the federation should do the same.

The first step of the building plan will have to get a strong coach. The trouble is that the federation want to keep the control of the NT and don't want to spend money on a coach. IMO, the best realistic option would be Rigaudeau as GM and Maljkovic as coach with a 3 years contract for both.
