they have a good chance to get out of the east, but not the champs

Cavaliers' big man Ben Wallace believes that the team has a chance to win the NBA le this season, according to NBA.com.
"I like our roster right now. I like the pieces that we’ve added. Along with the veterans that are coming back, I think we have the opportunity to win a Championship," Wallace said. "But as far as that X-factor, you really don’t know that until you get in the flow of the season and see how things turn out."
Wallace, who was traded to Cleveland from Chicago in February, averaged 4.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game with the Cavaliers last season.

Is he supposed to say they don't have a chance?
He is talking about the company's annual volleyball tournament. It's a team building excercise.
Every team in the league has a chance.
I don't think a streaky guy like Mo Williams was the answer...he's another Larry Hughes.
They should have traded in all their chips to get some star players...they spent ALOT of money but just traded for decent players.
The Cavaliers have one of the worst formed teams in the NBA, they have the 2nd highest payroll but it's filled with streaky players like Wally, Mo or decent but not great players like Eric Snow.
Ben Wallace for $14 million?
Wally's World at $13 million?
Mo Williams for $8 million?
Eric Snow at $7.5 million?
Cavs tried to take a shortcut in rebuilding their team but I think they just made a mess of things and now have a weird roster of decent but overhyped players. They should rename themselves Team Hype as almost all their players were overhyped at one time or another. Only LeBron earned the hype.
They should have picked up 1 or 2 excellent players and a bunch of scrubs instead.

They don't even have a second scorer.
They have a chance if Lebron will play like the season 2006-2007 got them to the finals...I am looking forward to this season...New Spurs and more...
Terrorists attacking the 2009 All-Star Game would definitely help, assuming LeBron escapes.
in his defense, they took the Celtics to the brink and gave them their toughest compe ion.
theyve seemingly only made forward progress since getting Lebron. it was a huge step for the just to beat Detroit and get to the Finals, nobody expected them to do it. plus they have maybe the best player in the league.
Eh, why not?
having the best player in the league definatly doesn't hurt your chances.

I think they have two chances of winning-- a fat chance and a slim chance.
If they are good enough to win the east and beat the defending champs I would also give them a chance at winning the le.
I don't think they're good enough for either, so don't think you can say they can win the east, but not the le.
Raider fan too?We can always look towards late April to see Al draft the fastest player.

yes when they have james
Williams is a much more efficient scorer compared to Larry. Larry is a .400 shooter his whole career and under .300 for 3pt shots. Mo is .444 for his career, something Larry topped only once back in 02/03. Mo has a good mid-range, pick and roll game and hits the 3 fairly decent.
I'm so sorry Danny Ferry gave out 14m to Ben Wallace or 13mil to Wally. He has been trying to fix up his mistakes from the off-season back in 2005. Team Hype. Andrew MOTHER ING BYNUM. In 2010 don't be surprised if someone joins the Cavs rather than LeBron leaving. They will have a load of cap room.
This team plays defense and keeps game close. If Z, Boobie, Mo, Delonte pitch in their 10-17 points each and play D, LeBron can do the rest.
Yes, he's better than Larry Hughes but he's still a very streaky shooter. He might put up 30 points 1 night, then the next night put up 2 points.
When the trade went down, LeBron said "This wasn't really what I wanted". I thought that was pretty funny.I'm so sorry Danny Ferry gave out 14m to Ben Wallace or 13mil to Wally. He has been trying to fix up his mistakes from the off-season back in 2005.
Hahahah. Maybe.Team Hype. Andrew MOTHER ING BYNUM.
I would be extremely surprised if the Cavs keep LeBron. It seems pretty clear to me that LeBron is already starting to cut his ties to Cleveland. Home is where the heart is but the money's in the Mecca of Basketball ... New York. Everybody says that LeBron is going to the Nets but I think the Knicks have an equal chance due to their bigger pocketbook and the classic greatness of Madison Square Garden. In 2010 don't be surprised if someone joins the Cavs rather than LeBron leaving. They will have a load of cap room.
The team is very good defensively but without another solid scorer, they'll again have problems scoring and LeBron will have to do it all. They'll easily be one of the better East teams but still not good enough to win it all. I have more faith in Boobie Gibson becoming better than Mo becoming a nightly 20 point player. This team plays defense and keeps game close. If Z, Boobie, Mo, Delonte pitch in their 10-17 points each and play D, LeBron can do the rest.
