Palin keeps ducking
NEW YORK - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who has not held a press conference in nearly four weeks of campaigning, on Tuesday banned reporters from her first meetings with world leaders, allowing access only to photographers and a television crew.
CNN, which was providing the television coverage for news organizations, decided to pull its TV crew, effectively denying Palin the high visibility she had sought.
She sure is showing leadership hiding behind that skirt.

The reporter was allowed to hear her make 30 seconds of small talk with karzai before being ushered out. Pathetic...

This was nothing more than a photo-op.CNN, which was providing the television coverage for news organizations, decided to pull its TV crew from the first meeting, with Karzai, effectively denying Palin the high visibility she had sought. But after the campaign agreed to let CNN's producer in as well, the CNN camera crew joined the session.
According to the CNN producer who was let into Karzai's hotel suite with the photographers just before noon, Karzai was talking about his son. Palin was nodding, and asked what his name is. Karzai replied his name was Mirwais and explained that it means light of the house.
The media were escorted out after about 40 seconds.

Had she allowed everyone that showed up to follow her around, libs would have accused her of doing the whole thing just to get more publicity while shamelessly trying to boost her foriegn relations experience.

The McCain campaign is afraid to let her do interviews.
Why?
She should subject herself to the same amount of press scrutiny as Obama, Biden and McCain. If she can't do that, then she and her supporters shouldn't about unfair campaign coverage. She can make this all go away if she starts doing interviews and pressers...of course, that is obviously a bad thing for the McCain campaign, so hence the hide her strategy...
How horrible to meet leaders and get down to business without having to make a media spectacle of it. *gasp*
I don't think it's fear. She's on everyone's mind right now, without having to do a bunch of publicity appearances on TV. Once her newness starts to fade (like, right about now) you'll start to see more interviews and Q&As.
Why not just get all the free campaigning in right now, prep her, then let her do her TV when all the free stuff dies off.
