My prediction

Tomorrow the market crashes quite hard. Somewhere in the 300-500 point loss range. Once again Congress gets scared, the House GOP consents to a bill mostly like what we've seen today.

The debate goes on as ;planned.

McCain looks at best no better than he did prior to this stunt but more than likely he looks worse. I don't care what the subject matter is tomorrow night, there will be a ton of economic discussion. You can bet your ass about that.

If I were a McCain supporter I'd be hard pressed to support him as a candidate at this point. It's just becoming embarrassing now, I have no idea what McCain's handlers are telling him to do but they are seriously ing up any chance he has of winning this election.

McCain was one of the few Republicans I had respect for, quite frankly because of how he ran his campaign in '00. He may have lost, but he did so with dignity. When this election is over, he'll have none left. If Republicans lose this year they will be in serious disarray for a long time coming. Honestly, it's probably for the best that the Republican beast be dismantled and the party find out who they really are.

The GOP needs to split up in two: There should be the paleoconservative GOP (think Eisenhower, Lincoln Chafee, even Pat Buchanan) and the mouthbreathing knuckledragging Christian Evangelical GOP.

This is fairly interesting to watch. Part of me wants to just get everything over with and let the hit the fan. But I'm also really scared that this would indeed mean a great depression type situation here.

The infastructure and capitol in place should keep the nation from reaching a depression of equal maginitude during the 1930's.

The dollar is falling right now. However, within 6 months I believe the economy will have corrected itself.
