sure, why not throw out all the kids with physical deformities too.
We're not talking about things people can't help themselves over.....we are talking about the kids that are screaming for attention. That's all this is and when they get that attention, it's distracting from the learning environment.
I think this issue has been discussed ad nauseum in the public arena which again is why every public school in the country has a dress code of some sort.
The bulk majority of males in this country do not wear face makeup. Therefore it is not 'normal' for a guy to put it on because he woke up one morning and wanted to.
If you let that go, then the line gets longer for kids saying "ok, now it's my turn to dress how I want to dress" and soon there is absolutely no dress code.
I think this kid needs his ass kicked.
But this is just freaking make up. Its only an issue if someone doesn't think he's "normal". He is not wearing blush and blue eye shadow and prancing around in a summer dress. He is not trying to look like a chick. Goth make up doesn't distract people it only distracts the "normal" people.
and another thing you never throw the chick out with the big boobs
That was the only reason I kept going to school. I still remember sitting outside and watching the girls practice volleyball with Tish who also had big boobs. She used to let me motorboat because she thought it was hilarious. DAMN I MISS HIGH SCHOOL!
you're missing the point.
It doesn't matter if you think that it doesn't distract people or not. It is makeup and it's on a guy and the potential is there.
Therefore, if you let it go, then who are you to say that the guy wearing the blue eye shadow and summer dress should go home and change.
Why isn't guy in the summer dress normal too in your book? Who are you to say he's not normal? I guess it would only distract the "normal" people........this goth kid better not call him a "freak"
You don't have to try and convince me. A few of us joined track just to do this same thing. We would just high jump a few times then sit on the mat and watch the chicks run by. We were scouting to see which ones we would sit next to when we would come back from those meets out in Cuero or where ever.
I say we dress the way we used to and go back to highschool undercover. I bet we become the coolest dudes there.
meh. One day maybe his other testicle will drop and he'll realize that he looks like a bag. Until then, let him dress how he wants.
Because it sounds like your point is the kid wants to dress like a girl. Sounds like you were home schooled. When it gets worse is when people like yourself see other people who do not look like yourself and you try and force people to look a certain way. That kid is not sitting there saying to himself "allright I got away with "goth" make up on so now next week I'm going for a prince albert and letting it hang out"
Yeah but what if girls under 18 start hitting on us. I don't know about you but I don't want to seem like a turning down a chick.
AAANNNNNNNDDDDDDDDD why would we turn them down?
- OOOOHHHHH NOOOO!! You didn't just go there !
Look my friend I am a method actor. I didn't plan on going undercover as a senior I planned on being a freshman. Don't get me wrong I would go after the junior and senior chicks but I will stay in character.
well you can have all the under age chicks you can handle. I think the important thing here is choosing the right name.
Got you covered my first dog's name and the first street I remember living on. Max Fulton
Nice to meet you Mr. Fulton I'm Mike Sunshine.....damn it !
no, that's not my point and no, I wasn't home schooled and my personal background nor yours have anything to do with this argument.
my point is that if you let this kid come in with face make up, then it sets precedents to allow other kids to say, "hey, if he can wear that, then I should be able to wear what I want to".
And although it is a "public school" this is not public domain. You can look whatever way you want to at the mall, but if the school forces you to wear khakis then you wear the khakis or you a) move to another town/state/country b) go home schooling c) go private schooling. There is nothing in the cons ution that forces a school to allow kids the freedom to dress as they please.
Based on what you've said so far, I'm not sure you even think a school dress code is necessary at all, but there are good reasons why they have dress codes and enforce them.
