When you live in a crime riddled neighborhood like that you learn to stay the out or you family gets smoked. We aren't talking about North or West San Antonio we're talking about South LA.... ing Crenshaw where dudes have guns and hookers by their side. White people aren't even permitted near there.
South LA isn't necessarily South Central LA.
And there are tons of white folks in South Central. , USC and the Shrine Auditorium (host to the Oscars for several decades) are in South Central LA.
Crenshaw is west LA. Is that the McDonalds on crenshaw? I've been to that one a couple of times.
That section has no Whites, and not many Mexicans. It's right up next to Baldwin Hills and up the street from the Jungles.

I think South LA is blown out of proportion sometimes. I live here, and you run into problems, but I'm still alive.
in today's world, strangers carry guns, hold grudges, act crazy.
you can do the right thing if you want, for some stranger, but if you end up getting shot, or have a crazy stalker after you and your family due to revenge, then would it be worth it?
imo, i only risk myself if my family is in danger. if my wife or something is in danger, i will die protecting her. other than that, i am not getting involved, its not my family, its not my business. if i lose an arm or a leg, or i get shot while protecting this girl in a mcdonalds, what am i going to get in return?

I didnt even mention the legal trouble you get into for self-defense. if you hurt the man too much or kill him, now you have to answer in court to see if it was justified.

I haven't spend much time in LA since I moved away just after high school -- just a few quick trips to Pasadena, Altadena, Hollywood, and Disneyland in 12 years -- so I'm sure a lot has changed, but I've always thought the view of LA's problems is a bit overblown in other parts of the country. Just like anywhere else, there are plenty of neighborhoods in which I wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance to spend a lot of time, but it's not like I grew up fearing for my life. I used to go to Compton, South Central, etc. with my friends all the time when I was in high school and didn't think anything of it.

help her up, call the cops...if you want go the extra mile and get a lisence plate...pay for her burger...job well done.

So then you'd have no problem with me standing there watching while one of your family members is getting pummeled? And then you show up and I just look you in the face and say...wasn't my problem.
I hear what all are saying but to me it sucks that we've become a society who cares from a distance. We all want to stop the violence from a distance. Actions speak louder than words.
Now that being said I haven't run into a situation where something like this has happened but I hope I'd do the right thing.
a few hours ago a fight broke out under the courts, i looked out the window and this vietnamese guy was chasing this black dude with a machete, dude was screaming and trying to get away while his friends ran towards the vietnamese guy throwing bottles or some . I dunno if some is brewing this weekend, but i got a wedding to attend or else i be lookin outside the window again for any good fights...

I know, I agree with you but times have changed. The United States justice system doesn't allow people to do anything anymore. You can get into trouble for hurting someone even if you think it was self-defense. You can even get sued. There are too many people with nothing to lose, or just plain crazy.
Nobody would pummel my family members because we know to avoid confrontation with crazy, stupid, low class people. The 16 year old black female in the video seems like she backed away from the counter and started cussing/complaining in a direct confrontational style. Who knows what she said to trigger this man to hit her?
My experience with blacks from poor neighborhoods have been that they lack class and manners, and are quick to yell and cuss.
Do you think the black man would have hit her if the girl just relaxed? The cashier wouldn't have allowed the man to skip her in line. "Yes sir, but you have to get in line, I am serving a customer"
So your situation would never happen to my family. We don't yell, cuss, or waste our time with crazy people. Let them talk and walk away and move on with your life.
I agree with MiamiHeat. The age of 16 is a tough call. I've always said I'd stay out of unless their was a kid involved. Plus that 16 year old could have cut in line, we don't know...she might of had it coming.

no , this always happens in my neighborhood....when you have to many of them, it turns into a ghetto, and they think they run the place/turf...this applies to any ethnic group. Its even worst when they are in a group of guys trying to act all alpha .
