OK OK we have gone way off topic. What was that about Juggs again?
going to a dealer unless its under warranty. Their prices are outrageous.

Some people call me Juggs because of my bravatar. It wasn't off topic at all.
Juggs is the topic
I could use some fresh juggs in my PM box.
Ok, whoever posted the photo of Eleanor on Page 3, I hate you.
I just nutted again over that car.
Damn.
andat ashbeigh thinking the insurance will pay for her water pump. That's hilarious. Morale of the story, dont be a dumb and wait around on with your car. Tis the price you pay.
I take my car to the dealer exclusively.
I'm kind of forced to, since apparently the New Beetle is some kind of magical contraption that no one can work on.
My car is at the dealer as we speak. Flippin' volkswagens.
Yeah, plus your car is still pretty new. Wait until you start having some major go wrong problems. Thats when you will feel that intense pain in your ass.
I'm curious to hear this quote.....
Another reason I was scared on only taking my car to the dealer was due to the fact alot of my friends had some pretty good horror stories on how they took their vehicle somewhere else and got it back all ed up.
I bet the mechanics are rubbing their balls all over your interior.
IMHO a good independent shop is better than a dealership for most things. The owner of the shop I take my personal vehicles to is impeccably honest and we have become good personal friends.
The benefit of taking it to the dealership (on the more complicated computer/electronics/engine/transmission timing stuff) is that you generally know they have all the electronic diagnostic equipment necessary for your specific vehicle. The problem with the really small independents is that they can't afford to have all the diagnostic equipment for all the brands and unless they are really honest they won't tell you. An independent shop has to be big enough to afford to invest in all the necessary equipment. My friend spends well over $100,000 a year just staying current with all the diagnostic stuff he needs.
I'm pretty sure the Progressive Claims adjusters have already done that and have instructed everyone that comes in contact to do the same.
At this point it's in the insurance company's hands. They took it to Pro Care on 35 and Rittiman to get it looked at yesterday afternoon and to the dealer late the same day to get a second opinion. So, now I'm just waiting to hear the verdict; and quote.
you're going to get dropped faster than a bigzak healthy choice
i always take our cars to the dealership. then again, we have a very longstanding relationship with them. we would never buy a car anywhere else. they've never jacked us on any repair and they always stand behind their work.
I can't believe you brought the insurance company into this. Whatever you'd possibly save on this you're going to pay right back and then some with higher rates. Thats possibly the dumbest thing you could do in this situation.
I wonder what the odds were of her listening to us in the first place.
Women.
well nobody ever accused ashbeigh of being intelligent.....

I know some insurance companies guarantee repairs................
Yeah I agree. But the problem is sometimes finding an independent shop that does good work and is reasonable. But yes, once you find one who you trust, and does good, honest, work you and your vehicle are in good shape.
So Ash what is the verdict? I want to know how much this is gonna cost...
This is why I went to them in the first place. But, like a lot of the jack asses in the thread have said it is going to be hard to prove that the water pump was something that they should have replaced when it wasn't on the original repair.
Don't know yet. It's still at the dealer.![]()
A lot of the jack asses in this thread just how the system works. Taking it to a dealer was a bad move as well. They're going to rape you without any lube. You'll know better next time though.
