well to be fair, Avery Johnson doesn't deserve a coaching job in the nba...anywhere.

Avery Johnson is:
1) Highly over-ranked and was a second tier PG that cost David Robinson several championships and teams just collapsed on the Spurs.
2) A person who had an alercation with Malik Rose.
3) A coach who could not make key adjustments and with his high pitched voice and school boy looks surely could not intimidate anyone.
4) Who got a banner at the Spurs arena simply due to finally hitting one big shot in his career.

Yeah, we gave Avery a lot of for joining the enemy. That is what a fan does. There is no need to get ugly and compare Avery to Obama. Avery deserves better than that. That just wasn't called for.

not so. been following my spurs since i can remember first playing ball back when i was like 7. now i wasn't a statistics or anything and surely wasn't some dumb internet gm at the beginning but yeah i've been following them for a long time now. before 99.
oh and i in' hope avery never gets a position with the spurs! i can't stand that guy at all.

Ive been a fan since 1983 and I have hated Johnson for a long time. Perhaps you bought that 'Little General' horse that we got forced down our throats by the likes of jay Howard but I never did.
All he ever did was for a single season, practice enough that he could hit a 15 footer on one spot on the floor. He was terrible before and after that.
He was a liability on defense and offense and despite Robinson liking him he was a backstabber and couldn't put ghis money where his mouth is.
Point in case is him playing like dog in 2000, he does his typical talking and when Rose calls him out on it, he attacks him in the shower.
Deserve Johnson? Give me a break. The guy is a scrub. He doesn't deserve .
