Moving on from Kimbo…
How about Ninja? What in the world was that?
Will we see more Affliction fighters at the EXC events or was AA just a one time thing. It was nice to see Andre kick some ass. Man I need to find that pic, I checked on out of 3 pc's ill keep looking and send it over to Evan, Des, and KD.
Ninja showed a great chin...he should've been down in the 1st. I thought it was over a couple times...
Radach is very under-rated...Ninja just isn't very consistent...will always put on an entertaining fight though and will fight anybody at any weight (or at least he used to).

ELITE XC “HEAT” DISCLOSED FIGHTER PAYROLL: $ 1,316,000
WOW
Andre Got 500 Grand. They are going to have to pay o probably that and a bonus if they want him to sign. Kimbo getting 500 grand that is hilarious. He likely has one more fight and that's it. Everyone knows he is a fraud now.
Maybe Andre walking on the UFC was good for him in the short term. He'd never make that in the UFC right now.
So did Andre though, good for him
UFC he'd maybe make 100 grand before bonuses.
AA got paid PPV percentage and a signing bonus from the UFC so just looking at his day of pay per fight is not the entire story
Also, Affliction paid the salaries for AA / Roy
Kimbo got a big bump in pay for a new opponant.
at least seth got 65 g's and a upcoming elite xc contract not bad for a guy who was chilling at his house doing nothing prior to all of this
He was on the undercard, so he was fighting anyway...I'm sure he made about 4x as much as the main event though...
werd didn't know
I know, and Im happy of Arlovski. He did it the right way.
Where is the aggressiveness from AA nowadays. Dude has a crazy 6'4 frame and just lets his opponents tire out.
He's scared to lose instead of going balls out. But...he's looking better recently.
Andre's only flaw is he does not have a great Chin. It's not weak but it isn't granite either. I think he has been wary of it since the 2nd Sylvia fight
Ha, check this out...
Seth Petruzelli created quite a stir following his improbable 14-second TKO against Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson during this past weekend’s Saturday Night Fights on CBS. He also added to the controversy following an interview during an interview on 104.1 FM in Orlando with the Monsters morning show.
When asked by one of the show’s hosts whether he was concerned by Slice’s standup skills and wanted to focus on getting the fight to the ground, Petruzelli indicated that he wanted to keep it standing. However, he also phrased his answer in a way that left many wondering whether EliteXC officials had offered him a bonus to keep the fight standing as opposed to taking it to the ground.
“… I knew I would do alright standing up with him,” Petruzelli said during the radio interview. “The promoters kind of hinted to me, and they gave me the money to stand and trade with him. They didn’t want me to take him down, let’s just put it that way.”
Upon being contacted by FiveOuncesOfPain.com for a followup, Petruzelli indicated that he felt his words during the 104.1 FM interview are being twisted and he categorically denied accusations that EliteXC somehow tried to influence his strategy through financial considerations.
“What was meant to be said was that I wanted to keep the fight standing for myself because I knew that was what the crowd, the promoters, and everyone wanted to see because that’s more exciting than just taking someone to the ground,” Petruzelli said. “That was my thing only. I wanted to keep it exciting so I decided to keep it standing. It had nothing to do with anybody else. That was all me.”
Upon being asked directly whether EliteXC officials had even hinted that he could receive a bonus by keeping the fight standing, Petruzelli clarified that no such act had taken place.
“No,” he responded. “Look, even the UFC gives knockout bonuses. Everyone gives knockout bonuses. There’s knockout bonuses, submission bonuses, all sorts of bonuses. I just wanted to keep it standing because I felt I could beat (Kimbo) at his own game.”

that's bad...I wish total failure on the Shaws and all of EliteXC.
i was watching espn's take on the kimbo fight and they called kimbo a joke. but they went ahead and called the sport a joke too. (this was on that show with the 4 different commentators and that one guy can mute them.)
Petruzelli also claimed he was paid in the six figure range to keep it standing, but his disclosed purse was only $50,000. So unless he is lying, and there's no reason to believe he is, he was paid an additional bonus to fight in a way that gave their star the best chance of winning.

Another reason why MMA fans get sp upset at the Kimbo issue. Again...this is like the media embracing And1 players while ignoring the NBA.
So what is next for Kimbo? Feed him a scrub?? and is he even marketable anymore??
who knows....they have a MASSIVE mess on their hands. With the above quotes its pretty clear they are tampering with the outcome of fights.
the worst part was that they used phrases like "popular mma fighter" and "one of the best" when describing kimbo. they were bashing the kimbo fight and then comparing the fights impact to the mma like it was fedor vs couture. most basketball fans can agree that espn is trash but it appears their re ness beyond basketball.
