Oh for sure, yeah. I see what your saying, and in a few months, I might be the same way.
Mind what I am saying though...I do believe he will be back...its just that the longer this takes the more my eyes squint at the situation.
Oh for sure, yeah. I see what your saying, and in a few months, I might be the same way.
Yeah its just...you have this massive star....and his status is just sitting there when after the UFC 84 post fight press conf Dana said GSP was the highest priority signing.
Thats all...I'm not trying to stir up worry but I do find it something to start paying attention to right now.
Sure but also you are the one that is always saying how all these companies are bleeding money left and right. So logically long-term GSP can't really leave than right
If he wanted a big pay-day or 2 i guess he could but this is a scenario where the UFC would just have to anti-up. This is GS Friggin P we are talking about. The the UFC would take for losing him would never be worth the extra cash, they could just give him to stay. They just tore up Randy's contract and gave him a new one. I think they have learned their lesson.
Their big thing is not getting into bidding wars. So this may be a first.
Well they basically avoided Randy fighting for someone else by giving him a new deal. So i don't see how this is much different. In fact GSP's value is far greater than Randy's given his age.
Of course you're right.
Hey like I said...this is just something we need to watch out for now. It should officially be on everyone's radar as something to keep an eye on.
You would think it would be done by November at the latest.
Evan let me ask you. Do you know if GSP was getting a good slice of the PPV?? I know he was making about 200 grand or a little less after he won. So he was getting like 150 to show, 50 to win and maybe a bonus for fight of the night and whatever he got in sponsorship. Perhaps he wants a nice slice of that PPV (HE deserves it) and his new agency is playing hardball with that.
UFC signs Mo...
Sources: UFC signs U.K. fighter Abdul Mohamed for UFC 93
by Kieran Malone on Oct 07, 2008 at 7:30 pm ET
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has further added to its growing roster of European talent by inking a deal with top U.K. lightweight Abdul Mohamed (16-6-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
Sources close to Mohamed told MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) of the signing on Monday, though terms of the contract were not undisclosed.
Mohamed is expected to make his debut at UFC 93, which takes place Jan. 17 in Dublin, Ireland.
No opponent has been determined.
Mohamed, a five year-veteran of the sport, has fought the entirety of his career in the U.K. A member of the expanding Wolfslair gym, he will join stablemates Michael Bisping, Paul Kelly, Quinton Jackson and Cheick Kongo on the UFC roster.
Mohamed has been a longtime target of the UFC, and he had been a rumored participant during past UFC shows in the U.K.
Mohamed is a powerhouse grappler known for overwhelming his opponents with wrestling and dominant top position control. He picked up a unanimous-decision victory over Ross Pearson at Cage Gladiators 9 this past weekend. The victory is believed to have secured the UFC deal, sources close to the fighter said.
During his career, Mohamed has competed against the likes of former Cage Rage champion and EliteXC fighter Paul Daley, whom he fought to a draw, and grappling sensation Vitor Ribeiro, to whom he lost via submission. He holds victories over the likes of Jean Silva, Ross Pointon and Robbie Olivier.
That dude cracks me up.
I dont know if anyone cares...but this is from 411mania/MMA
The following comes from The BBC News:
Cage fighters 'behind £53m raid'
Two cage fighters masterminded the £53m raid on a Securitas depot in Kent and then fled to Morocco, a jury was told.
Paul Allen and Lee Murray, 29, were at the heart of the raid in Tonbridge in February 2006, the Old Bailey heard.
Mr Allen, 30, of Chatham, was extradited to the UK while Mr Murray remains in a Moroccan jail.
Mr Allen is on trial along with Michael Demetris, 32, of Bromley Common, south London. Both deny conspiracy to rob, to kidnap, and to possess a firearm.
Mr Allen and Mr Demetris, a hairdresser, are accused of conspiring with five other men who were jailed in January after being found guilty of kidnap, robbery and firearms charges in connection with Britain's biggest cash raid.
During the raid, depot manager Colin Dixon and his family were kidnapped at gunpoint by men posing as police officers.
Telephone records
Sir John Nutting QC, prosecuting, said Mr Allen and Mr Murray were friends of long standing, and both worked part-time as cage fighters, a martial arts activity.
"We have their telephone records. In the period leading up to 21 February they speak regularly during the day and almost invariably last thing at night," he said.
The two, it was said, had hoped to remain living in Morocco and share proceeds from the raid.
Sir John told jurors that evidence at the Securitas trial held last year provided by Mic e Hogg, who applied prosthetic masks to disguise members of the gang, led to Mr Demetris being charged.
The court heard that Mr Murray allegedly began to take an interest in the Securitas depot in summer 2005 and later that year he and Mr Allen bought several pay-as-you-go mobile phones and SIM cards.
In January 2006, the pair visited a specialist security shop to buy covert miniature cameras and recording equipment, used in the reconnaissance of the depot and the Dixons' home.
Mr Murray also bought police clothing used in the robbery on eBay, as well as a paintball mask from a shop which he used as a disguise, while Mr Allen helped buy one of the cars used in the kidnapping and to transport the robbers to and from the depot, the court heard.
Mr Murray allegedly helped buy prosthetic material and wore a prosthetic disguise made by Miss Hogg, which he used to pose as a policeman during the kidnapping of the Dixons.
Jurors were also told that a few days before the raid Mr Allen visited Herne Bay, where his mobile phone signal was detected near the Dixons' home in the early hours of two consecutive mornings.
Sir John said Mr Allen was also with Miss Hogg when she applied prosthetic masks to the robbers, and allowed his home in Chatham to be used by Mr Demetris to "perfect the disguises" just before the kidnapping.
"He may well have actually participated in the robbery and, after it, he assisted the other conspirators to unwrap a large number of holdalls which were used to take the proceeds of the robbery away," he said.
He told the court there was no suggestion that Mr Demetris, who employed Miss Hogg at his hair salon, was a kidnapper or robber.
Mobile phone call
However, he had introduced her to the conspirators "so that her expertise could be used in the creation of disguises" and "organised" her life, encouraging her to work at home on the disguises and helping her generally, he said.
"After the robbery he instructed Mic e Hogg what to say to police if she was interviewed," the court was told.
Referring to Mr Murray, Sir John said a conversation between him and Lea Rusha, one of the five men jailed in January, was accidentally recorded on Mr Murray's mobile.
The trial was also told of another alleged robber - Keyinde Patterson, known as Cane, who has not been arrested and may be in the West Indies.
Jurors heard that £20m from the robbery was recovered within a month.
The trial continues.
^there is a security cam video somewhere out there.
I don't know about you guys but 5ozpain used to be my favorite site but their best writers ran off except for Sam (who literally cannot handle anything close to criticism) and since they switched site formats that site is now unreadable. Which sucks because Sam is nailing so many awesome exclusive interviews but its too hard to navigate. Seems like everyone has run off to bloodyelbow.com which for some bizarre reason (probably "blood".) Love that site.
Anyway....just my rant.
Biggest MMA star now!

Today, MMARated.com has learned that, as is the case with most European UFC cards, e TV is considering airing the event on tape delay in primetime. The network will be airing UFC 89 from Birmingham, England, on tape delay next Saturday.
This news is very promising for MMA fans as not only will they potentially have the chance to see four of the best 205-pounders compete for free, but this card comes nudged between UFC 92 on December 27 (Mir vs. Nogueira, Evans vs. Griffin, Jackson vs. Silva), the Affliction/Golden Boy show (as of now scheduled for January 24, but who the heck knows these days) and UFC 94 (St-Pierre vs. Penn) on January 31. So, you know, finances will be a little tight.
Speaking of e TV, we're still waiting for another "Kimbo Slice is the 'He Hate Me' of MMA" press release because, well, we loved the first one so much.
phone call I had about an hour ago....
Evan: Hey Cate...
Cate: blah blah blah blah.....................................
Cate: So I'm watching that UFC thing you like...
Evan: You?!?! Why?!?!
Cate: Well I'm bored and I just happened to see it...
Evan: Still.....wow
Cate: So that black guy...Andy?....
Evan: You mean the guy on right now...241...the bald guy?
Cate: Yeah....why are you laughing?
Evan: His name's Anderson and he's from Brazil. He's not Black.
Cate: He doesn't look Hispanic....
Cate: why are you laughing again?
Evan: Well Brazil is a really obscure part of Mexico, its where they filmed Rocky 3 and the old star wars..not those crappy new ones .....
Cate: Do they normally fight so many times a night?
Evan: Yeah...these guys are tough.
Cate: yeah they are
And for the record my friend Cate is very smart...she's just dumb as a sack of peanuts about anything that doesn't have to do with accounting.
