The handshake is very bothersome. Obama has not indulged in the type of personal attacks that would prompt a sign of animosity like that. McCain is acting small.
I don't think it was a HUGE deal, but with these types of things you need to be VERY precise with what you say, every single word is going to be analyzed...he should know that. McCain didn't even stumble over those words, that was what he intended to say. It just sounded out of place, and he could have picked several different ways of addressing his opponent but yet he chose this way...weird.

"McCain is acting small."
WRONG!
Mc5ft9in IS small (and hung up about it.)![]()
I heard that and I thought he meant to say, "that ######"
This thread is laughable.
Global economy is in a tailspin, but God Damnit, McCain called my Savior "that one" and didn't shake his hand. WAAAAA!
put yourself in mccains shoes.
think of the times he grew up in.
he can't understand why this is even close.
he can't understand why he has to go out with a black man on top.
that was disrespectful?.......how about all those millions of people that actually make their monthly mortgage payments?
This is all such a joke. With everything bad this is happening in our country and you guys want to pounce on an innocent remark? Get over it! If that's what you stupid libs want to take out of this debate - then you're in real trouble.
Obama doesn't deserve respect - he's a dishonorable man.
^and you are a hypnotizied man......I bet you would suck sean hannity's if he let you.
Such thin skin the libs have.
That's nothing new though.
Obama deserves better. He bled for those earmarks.
That's entirely the point.
This country is in the worst financial crisis it's been in since our grandparents were wee ones. The housing market is shot, the dollar is losing value, and people are scared about their retirement, their children's future... etc.
All this is going on, and McCain (who proclaims himself as a patriot who reaches across the aisle at every opportunity) cannot even pay respect to his fellow candidate. This SHOULD be the time when politicians are willing to set aside their personal qualms for the good of the nation.
Coming from a candidate who is so braggadocios about his ability to work with everyone, who throws it in the face of the public about how much of a leader is, this seems more than just a couple of words and disrespect. It's a hint at McCain's character.
Let me put it to you this way, those of you who are parents: Would you let your child refer to you as "that one"? And if they did so with a point of their finger, would you immediately see it a sign of anything but disrespect?
Yes, it's petty. That's what's sad about the situation. The nation is in crisis and McCain doesn't have enough decency to view Obama as anything but a bug to be stomped on.
LMAO @ all the people who crucified Obama (after all, he is the messiah to you right wingers) for the lipstick on a pig remark getting defensive now when McCain clearly disrespects Obama.
And you cons want to talk about a guy's middle name?![]()
I need a violin just to read this thread.
I think is just shows that McCain doesn't mean what he says. He talks about bipartisanship and reaching across the isle and putting politics aside, blah, blah, blah....
And what does he do right after he says all this? He refuses to shake his opponents hand. Pitiful.
in the next debate he is going to unleash the "white power!"
Well that was different obviously. Obama was making fun of their messiah.
There's a difference between calling a candidate out for his behavior and whining about it. If someone punches you in the face for no reason, I'm not going to whine about it, but it still makes that other person a huge prick.
The global economy will still be in a tailspin regardless of any threads on Spurstalk but nice red herring.
" Don't cry for me I'm Obama !!! "

Thank goodness DarrinS is sticking to the real issues.
WTF am I supposed to do. We have a crotchety old man and a mental midget as our ticket. At least you guys have a guy that can put a cogent sentence together. The other guy is just a sleezeball from Stranton.
On Nov. 2008, we will become the People's Republic of America. God help us.
Yeah, Obama was the one trying to buy everyone a house last night.
ing socialist.
Actually, he wants to help people refinance their homes at their current value. Nice try though. By the way, last night was the first time I'd heard that from him.
Both guys are pretty much for corporate welfare and both are global warming catastrophist, so it.
