I am really picky about stuff too. So picky, in fact, that when I find something I like, I make sure to sign up for message boards so that I can advertise for that thing.
Anybody else know/like Eli Young Band? I am very picky when it comes to country music but I absolutely love their album Jet Black and Jealous. A friend of mine dragged me to see them perform live for Good Day Fox 7 in Austin (http://www.myfoxaustin.com/myfox/pag...Y&pageId=5.2.1 ) and I have since been completely hooked on them. If you are not familiar with them they are definitely worth checking out:

I'm not hating about the message board, but for crying out loud, Eli Young Band is not a "new" artist. They have been in the business for about 8 years now. Their first CD en led "Eli Young Band" was released back in 2002. Jet Black and Jealous, is their latest and more mainstream approach IMO. They haven't sold out, but they are damn near close. I recommend you check out the CD "Level". They stay true to their roots and actually write their own songs on that album. So they aren't "new" but they are from Texas. I'll give you that.

new? I didn't listen to a lot of Texas country pre-college and even then I've heard of the Eli Young band. They are good though.
There's this dude named Willie Nelson that has a few songs out...I hear he's good!

I see... I was justtrying to figure out what a video of a rooster stomping a singing plastic fish had to do with a piece of art depicting a buff cowboy holding his exposed (?) weenie. Still don't get it. But that is some nice art work!

But something really cool is that my friend was telling me that they're in the running for Yahoo's Who's Next compe ion to perform on stage but people need to vote for it. so if they win, they get to perform. since I really like their music right now, I just voted for them a couple times at http://music.yahoo.com/promo-29644410
so i really hope they win. I mean they're up against some competiion but I really like EYB, Texas since I was born there, and my country music. i guess they rarely pick country music artists to run for it so it'll be nice to see EYB to represent for texas and all the country artists.

Nah, it's a new marketing trick a lot of new bands are using. Cyber street teams. Spread the word on message boards. Which pisses me off, because I've been pimping Reckless Kelly on message boards since Algore invented the interwebs. I kinda feel like they owe me for stealing my idea.
