Yeah, their starters were in late against the Rockets' reserves late when we played them. They are all young, so I wouldn't be too worried about them getting too exhausted. BTW they lost that one too.![]()
2ndgame of the preseason, look how much Iavaroni played his starters!!!!??

Dont really see anything wrong with it. They're all really young and trying to build chemistry. They know they aren't a playoff team. Plus, they get to work on chemistry late in games in more practical regular season game situations.
Yeah clearly Haddadi showed he should play more.
Either way, Ivaroni seems to be taking after D'Antoni
Interesting to see Marc Gasol the starting Center.
I think the Lakers may have made a mistake trading Pau for Marc in the long run. Pau will always have a higher skill level and better offense but Marc Gasol is a much tougher inside player.
At the same time, the Lakers need a Power Forward which Pau plays well and Marc isn't suited for that so I'm kinda torn between the two.
I think Marc Gasol will be compe ive in the Rookie of the Year race although I still think Oden will win it
- Oden
- Rudy
- Gasol
- Mayo
- Beasley
- Love
- Rose
- Bayless
- Dragic

Young or not, players can still/DO still get injured regardless of age (see Oden, Bynum, etc.). And if your logic is to say that they want to build chemistry? Well , you said they're not going to make the playoffs anyway...do it in the regular season! At least it'll show on your resume that you won 18 games instead of 17 Iavaroni. What a tool. Thank gawd none of them got hurt.
These are all very young players... Obviously coach wants them to play together a lot.
Damn that lineup is going to kick some serious in 2-3 years.
The injury/fatigue concern is minimal for such young guys. They are going to be expected to do heavy minutes during the season I imagine. But I do agree with the sentiment of the OP that playing your starters that much in preseason a little odd. No harm in going a little wild and playing mad scientist with some lineups.
Players can get hurt in 10 minutes of playing time just the same as 30 minutes of playing time. You build chemistry now so the team is more compe ive in the regular season, and maybe the team sneaks in a couple of wins early in the season against teams that don't have chemistry at that point yet. It's really not the big deal you're making it.
Since I live 10 minutes away from memphis, I'm jumping on the Grizzlies wagon in about 3 years.
Ok, maybe I won't, but Rudy Gay is on the verge of being a bigtime player.
What a shock, a Mavfan being a bandwagonner...![]()
Ivaroni learned from D'Antoni so no surprise
SERIOUSLY MAYNE! NO ONE IS ALOUD TO LIKE A GOOD TEAM EVER!!! THAT BRO!
off and die
If there aren't any decisions to make regarding the roster, then what's the harm of playing them regular minutes? They'll have plenty of time to rest somewhere around the all-star break when they are eliminated from playoff contention.
