I'm going to try to explain a bit from somebody from Argentina that reads that. Hopefully you'll bear with me and try to understand.

He didn't mean the 'delicate' in that quote. Believe me. We say that when we talk about a topic like that (drunk, easy girls, etc) because of the significant other ().

About the car, you need to understand the context. A BMW, Audi, even a Benz is a complete rarity in Argentina. He's currently engaged in building a stadium in his native city, Bahia Blanca, where the government promised to pay 50% of it, and where Manu's sponsors are paying for the other half. He's already been criticized (unjustly in my opinion) because he's not footing the bill for the whole thing. The last thing he needs is some radio show coming out and saying "Well, he could sell the BMW and the Audi and pay for the whole thing" (critique like that already happened, BTW).

I'll tell you a little story that happened to me personally. I actually happen to drive a Benz and a Jeep (wife's car). My dad had the very, very stupid idea of telling my neighbors that we own those. When I went to visit last month, all my neighbors would ask me about were the Benz and the 4x4 (that's what they call SUV's over there). It was really uncomfortable. And this is El Nono, not Manu Ginobili.

I don't really think it is contradictory. I'm an staunch atheist, but I still say "oh my god" when I'm surprised, or "goddamnit" when I'm frustrated. It's just idiomatic usage. I don't even think about it when I do it. I don't have to believe in blessings to reflexively say "bless you" when someone sneezes.

Exactly, I'm as atheist as they come, but although I try to avoid them I often find myself using those expressions (their spanish counterparts, of course). They are culturally imprinted on people and shouldn't be taken exclusively as a statement of faith.

Well, I was there last month. Outside of Puerto Madero, Palermo and Devoto, I can count the amount of BMW's, Benz and Audis I saw with ONE hand. I actually remember seeing just ONE Mercedes (a 300E) in an entire week I spent in Mar del Plata.

I mean, in the parking lot right outside this apartment complex, which is not in any rich neighborhood at all, there are 2 BMW's 325, my old Benz, another Benz CLK, a Porsche Boxter, an old Porsche 911, an Audi A8 and an Audi TT.

Let's put in the number of dealerships... when I tried to show my cousin the Mercedes SLK that one of our customers have (which is sick), I looked up where there was an official Mercedes dealer, and there was only one for the entire Capital Federal in Puerto Madero (They're also the the official Jeep dealers). When I went there, they didn't even have the car. They told me it's too expensive and they only import it on a special order.

Yes. That is how I talk to people and I have a lot of friends that are not Christians. We discuss things like this and get along just fine. I was just commenting on the old adage "you don't discuss politics or religion over dinner" type deal. I have no beef with what he said or how he said it though. I just thought it was little odd to see such direct honesty to fans on a subject that I thought was sensitive. Sometimes that refreshing honesty gets famous people in trouble and opens the doors to more privacy invasion and judgments.

Atheism is a little different.

It's unclear exactly what Hitler believed. Many Christians like to use the "Hitler was an atheist" as an argument for the need for God in one's life, but Hitler was quoted on many occasions (particularly in his book, Mein Kampf) as citing God as a motivating factor in his life.

It seems clear that Hitler was not an atheist, but that doesn't mean he believes in the Judeo-Christian God. Guy was a loon.

I in no way, shape or form said people "should shut up in the name of pc". I said I was surprised he gave such an honest answer in a public forum. I said it caught me off guard because the other questions were so light-hearted. That is all. You are making up that I said and blowing things out of context because it is a sensitive subject that you misinterpreted.

This is not about his beliefs at all or mine or yours. This is strictly about a PR thing. That is it. I did not even think it was a big deal when I made my first comments and then a bunch of people started interpreting and reading into what I said without asking for clarification.

The Hitler reference was made to someone's obscure point that had nothing to do with my original point. They were trying to argue about judgments (which I never judged Manu) and I took it to an extreme to prove a point that if one person has the right to believe, everyone does. You do not have the right to hurt others but you can say and believe what you will. You will have to suffer the consequences of your words. I clearly said Manu is in no way like the KKK or Hitler.

For those of you talking . I am sure you would say stuff like that to peoples faces.

That is exactly what I was trying to say with my first post (to a certain degree). If you look back at all my post, I tried to say it was not about religious beliefs or right or wrong. I was just surprised (do to the nature of the questions before that one) that he would open himself up so directly. That is all. Then a bunch of people started bringing up other issues that had nothing to do with what I said and attacked me on them. Then I had to defend myself against a bunch of things I did not say, but that I had opinions on in a different regard. I have typed this 100 times and I do not know why people do not get it.
