    I'm just reading from the forum, so don't count me as all knowing, but I believe it's McCain's fault for not correcting his supporters' notions before it got out of hand. He let Palin just blab on and on with "paling around with terrorists" without thinking anything of the consequences. Didn't you see the videos with people shouting "Terrorist!!!" "Kill him!" and so on? There was hardly a blink on John's face.
