, hopefully Salim and Vaughn can hold down the fort till Hill makes it up, then turn JV into a assistant coach or something. I hope Watkins and Hairston make it, I like the look of

    Tony/Salim(i know this'll be Vaughn, but I can dream)/Hill
    Mason/Hairston/Manu
    Bruce/Ime/Finley
    Tim/Bonner/Ian
    Fab/KT/Watkins

I guess Manu, Hill, and Ian will be the IR, the ing 2nd best player, and the two most exciting new players, outside of Mason.

And double about Bonner. He better do that in the reg season. I don't want two Bonners, so if Tolliver doesn't make it, Pop won't regret it.

Man, Watkins is a beast protecting the rim... I just wish we'd see more boards from him.
I absolutely love these preseason invites. Too bad we can't keep them all.

We need a beast like Watkins protecting the rim. I still think he would be VERY handy for 10 minutes a game playing D against other teams bigs. I say we keep Watkins. The Spurs can teach him some offense as he goes along. At the very least I don't want Pop cutting him straight away. Give him a real good chance the rest of the preseason to see what he can really do.

Red Sox win the second best comeback in baseball playoff history, second only to Philadelphia beating who else, the Cubs, 10-8 in 1929.

Unreal. The Sox just might do it again.... The Sox have Beckett going in game 6, and stud Lester in game 7.

This thing I think is going 7 now, the Sox have ALL the momentum.

BTW for those that didn't see it,

3-1 count to JD Drew, intentionally walked Jason Bay to pitch to him, and he hits a ground rule double out to right field.

JD Drew has turned into a clutch stud postseason hitter.

    Unreal.

Player of the game tonight, EASILY.

    Spurs just shot some shots.

How did Mo, Z and LeBron work together for the Cavs? Any insights?

Defense is a mindset and much harder to teach. It sounds as though Watkins has good defensive and shotblocking fundamentals right now, but needs to improve his rebounding. Offense can always be taught on the fly and can develop over time.

With Ian injured and Splitter not here, this guy could fill a huge void for the Spurs as a backup big. There are several new big men in the Western Conference this season. Personally, I don't want to see another "alley-oop" exhibition from the Hornets this season. This guy sounds like just what the doctor ordered to give the Spurs another rim-protector besides Duncan. I certainly hope Pop feels the same way.

Bonner can't catch a break around here, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. I hope he kicks ass and think he can score in double digits if given the minutes. Go Red Rocket!

The problem is that he spends more time in the "he doesn't". He is going to have to string a few games like this one together before I am convinced he can get anywhere close to averaging double digits. I still think he is what he is and that is not going to get much better.

Hairston is still probably the best prospect of our swingmen. He will need developing but I think that is better than trying to get something out of Green or Farmer that may not be there. Stoudamire is still the wild card as far as our back court goes...but I wonder where he will fit if he makes it. If he can get healthy and get in a couple of games here at the end of the preseason he could wind up showing us something. But again...will we carry 3 PG's? Still more questions than answers regarding him.

I am still on the fence regarding Watkins. We know he is a natural shot blocker, but will he be too much of a project beyond that? If we could Toros for insurance purposes in case Ian just does not come around I would be happy.

Tolliver finally has a nice shooting game. But Bonner does too. I don't see Tolliver making the team, nor do I see Bonner doing anything other than riding the bench.

Well, it seems from the latest Monroe article that Pop is pretty high on Tolliver.
