No. He started a business in Chicago and because he was Texan he decided that pizza needed more of everything. At first people didn't like it then slowly it came around and now Chi-town is famous for them BUT a Texan started it.

This is not where I got my info but I googled it.

Well s bells. I'll be sure to tell whichever restaurant we go to that the pizza originated in Texas and as a fellow Texan I should be given a discount.

was in Chicago last year at about this time. I absolutely loved that city. There are a ton of things to do, especially downtown. Museums, restaurants, art galleries, etc... Go see a Bears game if you can. As far as night spots, I went to a bar hotspot near Depaul University. Can't remember where exactly, but there is a lot of Halloween Spirit!

Everywhere you eat the food will be good. Eat breakfast at the West Egg if you get a chance.

Frontera Grill. Hands down is a great place to go. You have like a half hour in the morning from like 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. to call for reservations otherwise it is a 2 hour wait at least.

The museum of science and acquarium are pretty cool to see.

For pizza I would say Geno's.

Wrigleyville is cool to see, although since baseball season and summer over its is not as cool, but still worth visiting.

it's like a 5-10 minute cab ride from where I assume you will be staying on Michigan Ave.

You will like Rockit, it's always a great place to be at on a Friday or Saturday. They normally have a DJ down stairs and a live band upstairs on Saturday. The upstairs is really awesome, it's like a modern ski lodge

Gino's East is the greasiest pizza I've ever had. It makes my stomach hurt just to look at. They also have the worst staff I've ever experienced. One time I went there, they lost my friend's credit card, found it, then gave him someone else's. Neither the manager nor the waiter apologized or gave us anything comped. The second time I went (same friend, actually), we waited over 50 minutes while sitting at the bar just to get drinks. Unreal. I'll never go back to Gino's.

Uno's is good, maybe on par with Giordano's, but I've lived here for almost 2 years now and Giordano's is consistently some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. There are smaller pizza chains that are in the realm of being as good, such as Lou Malnati's, but Giordano's is excellent, and a lot of Chicago natives go there. They definitely wouldn't it if was a tourist trap. I guess it depends on what you want. Giordano's has excellent cheese and crust, but their ingredients are inferior to a place like Lou's. And there are thousands of excellent restaurants to eat at in this city.

What are you looking to do? How long will you be here? There are thousands of cool little locales to see, and it all depends on your preferences. Are you going to go clubbing? Sightseeing? I can give you a pretty decent rundown of what to do here. Hope you like my city. We play a pretty good host (cross your fingers for those '16 Olympics!) and it's a tough time -not- to have fun here.

    I agree with Rockit.
Also Howl at the Moon (next door, dueling pianos), 10 pin (bowling), The Redhead (piano bar, older crowd), Fado, The Kerryman, Wrigleyville bars, Division/State bars, Division/Damen bars, Viagra triangle bars (expensive), Lincoln Park bars (Oz Park), Depaul University bars, Joe's on Weed St., Wicker Park music venues/bars....the list goes on and on and on.
It really depends on what you are looking for (live music, sports, karaoke, piano, pub quiz, comedy, blues/jazz...), how much you're gonna spend, where are you located, is your crowd college, post college, post post college?
    My suggestion: drink everyday, everywhere.

Who has the best damn deep dish pizza?
Gino's is great, but for deep dish, Giordano's can't be touched. Then again if you poll people on the best pizza in Chicago, you would get about 10 different answers. Pizzaria Uno and Due are OK, but they have WAY to much crust in their deep dish, not enough cheese, same goes for Lou Malnati's and others.

    Other :
    eat a Chicago dog
go to the top of the John Han building
visit Shedd Aquarium and the Museum of Science and Industry
take a boat tour on the river somewhere
    Buckingham Fountain
    shop Michigan Ave.
    walk around in Millennium Park
    etc.
