    Boston Waives Darius Miles
    More Celtics News

    Oct 20, 2008 12:34 PM EST
The Boston Celtics announced today that the club has requested waivers on forward Darius Miles. The training camp roster now stands at 15. “Darius was a model citizen during his time here in Boston. He showed that he still has a lot of basketball left in him.” said Celtics Executive Director of Basketball Operations/General Manger Danny Ainge. Miles signed as a free agent on August 22, 2008. The 6’9, 235-pound forward appeared in six preseason games, averaging 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.

Regarding the actual subject: I'm pissed because of the NW division implications. The Blazers are too lucky.

Blazers aren't out of the woods for this season or next. Someone may pick him up tomorrow and stick him in 10 games or someone may pick him up next year. He was the final cut for the defending NBA champs. Are you telling me there isn't a roster he could make even this year? Miami, who has like 4 guys over 6'8"?

If he plays 10 games in either of the next two seasons, they're on the hook for the whole enchilada, cash and cap space.

If you are a professional athlete, stay the away from drugs. Weed and alcohol are killers. If you are a normal civilian, you can do the you want.

LMAO are you serious? It's a shame the media and society in general has been demonizing weed for so long. You can't overdose from weed... No one has ever died from weed. Weed is not physically addictive and even mentally so it is hardly addictive. Theres no reason why NBA should get worked up over this kind of thing but hey I guess the ignorant stay ignorant.

It makes you lazy and the NBA is not a place where you want to be lazy at. It ruins careers just like alcohol can.

The point is you got a contract worth millions in the NBA. They own you pretty much. Use substances that could hurt your performance is screwing over yourself and your team. There isn't as much pressure to be at top physical shape when you live a normal life. Get it now?

I don't see what this has to do with Darius Miles' knees, so why don't you get off your ivory tower and... SHUT THE UP!

So doing weed all the time is alright to do in the nba? That is what I think Darius Miles is doing. He looks like a stoner. Your job is to play basketball, you want to take care of yourself. Eating habits are important to. I'm not against Marijuana use. Just against bad habits of nba players that are getting paid millions.
