I generally try to respect people's beliefs no matter how wacked out they may seem to me, but I think part of the problem is that a lot of "those people" see it as their duty to lead others in that direction. It's the proselytizing that gets me.

Yes, I meant condemn. I actually don't give a rats ass what other people's belief are. I said many times that religion works for some people, so I'm A-OK with that. This is my problem:

We got to send angel's posts to the Daily Show and Colbert Report. You can't write such amazing comedy. She reminds me of this clip on YouTube of this woman who won't vote for Obama because she's a Christian. Her husband is a working Joe (not a plumber) who's still undecided. "I'll pray for him" she says. Scary, but funny .

1) I've read this thread from front to back. Hilarious.
2) Thank goodness the sane people outnumber the (relatively small) amount of insane people.
3) It's nice to see other non-believers who firmly state they have no time for irrationality while still showing respect for all kinds of rational (or even arational) beliefs.

I pretty much stumbled onto this site by accident one day and have been hooked ever since. It's threads like this that keep me here.
The Political Forum here has been great this election. It's nice to have both sides represented, even if one side is devoid of intellectual thought.
I actually grew up in a strong evangelical Christian family (still am growing up with them, I guess you could say). I can't tell you how many times they called Clinton, Gore, Kerry, etc. the anti-Christ. Not sure if they were serious but I distinctly remember hearing that.
I've been here since the 06 semis between Dallas and San Antonio. There have been many great days on SpursTalk since that time, but this is without a doubt the finest hour, at least for me anyways. I never participated in the Scola threads.
