Will Jay Howard ever return to the air waves?

Uh, yeah, like that's not a massive rationalization.

Look, I'm sure you completely believe you know what you're talking about here so I'm not going to argue with a wall. All I will say is that many times when a person has worked in one industry for decades and an opportunity presents itself to take your life in a different direction, they jump on it. You act like being on the radio is some end all be all thing and that once you get on the only way you'd ever want to be off is if you were forced. I won't argue with some of the negative points brought up in this thread, but suggesting you know exactly what a man wants is fairly ignorant.

I'm sure there were a list of reasons why he "went away". But Numero Uno on the list was when he called out the owner of Body Solutions on the air, and pointed out that he was fat. That was sort of a problem since the guy was selling a "miracle" weight-loss product, and his company was a MAJOR source of advertising revenue. Say whatever you want to, but he was doomed from the moment he made that comment.

The sad thing is, of all the things Jay ever said, I think that was his crowning moment. I thought it was hilarious at the time, but I was also happy that somebody had the courage to call Body Solutions on the carpet. It had to be obvious to everyone that either a) the guy wasn't using his own product, or b) the product didn't work. As it turned out, the product was a scam. The company went belly-up, and left a lot of businesses in town (including WOAI, I believe?) holding a lot of unpaid bills.

Thats funny because I remember when Jay was hawking that Body Solutions stuff all the time but he never seemed to lose any weight. As for his PBP I thought he was pretty good but he came off as a pompous ass on his show.

On a side note...does anyone know if the Energy Solutions people who have the naming rights to the Utah Jazz arena are the same company selling a different product??

I was told Jay Howard was the voice of the spurs that is what i was told.

I heard part of the show today and Jay Howard asked Chris Duel for some sort of dump button to get rid of callers he didn't want to hear any more. I also heard Tpark spend 4 minutes of his 4 1/2 minutes on the radio tossing Jay's salad.

Not that I don't think Tpark was kissing ass but Jay immediately made sounds like he was very bored and that he doesn't give a rats ass.

It doesn't matter if Jay Howard was trying to be funny, and it doesn't matter if Tpark says he had to get off early.

I just thought Jay Howard could try to put to rest the rumors of him being Anal, and maybe after all this time come back with a new fresh start a new Jay Howard.

But if that is what he wants us to remember the old Jay Howard then he will bring back many memories of the past and some of them may not be good ones.

I myself would have just put on an act and let the listeners think you have changed and still be the asshat in person.

But they run the show and we can only tune in or change the dial so I doubt any one really cares what i think.

It won't take the ESPN channel too long to find out that Jay is just not a peronality people will like. When it is a broadcasting position you rarley put your personality in it, you just explain what happens. Bill Schoening was a good talk show guy. He was extremly entertaining and nice to the callers. And even from game broadcasts he is pretty funny. I remember the Spurs were playing the Kings last year and the Kings played downright terrible and with about 2 minutes to go in the second quarter Bill said something along the lines of "That sound you are hearing is Dr. James Nasmith turning over in his grave."
