What's the job function?
If it's Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces, I'd clearly lean towards the one with military experience.

I don't know. From what I hear, Bruce Springsteen is an elitist and prefers East Coast universities.
That's a scary logic. I've known some dumbasses that were in the military.
The job description of the Leader of the Free F'ing World includes a lot more than military functions. I don't care if it's Obama or not, I'd like a president who can make a decision and keep their together.
Are they all candidates on the list you provided, or were there only two to choose from?
Yes, but in the middle of a war I think the commander-in-chief role takes a little more relevance.
what's the job? And is this an affirmative action employer cause if it is we'd have to hire the vag or the black guy.
Are we always going to be in the middle of a war? War on terrorism? What would you expect a guy with Vietnam War experience to do with that?
We may not always be in the middle of a war, but we are right now.
Are you telling me that relevant military experience is inconsequential to what kind of a leader someone is after their military career is over?
I'm sure a lot of veterans are interested in your answer...
Unless you have to fund that war.
At what point did I say military experience didn't matter? What I did was question McCain's outdated experience.
And my understanding is that most of McCain's military experience is either flying over the action or getting the snot beat out of him. No where did strategy factor into any of that.
the one that is not going to raise my taxes!
This makes me laugh every time.
Republicans get mad when you point out that their candidates don't have the experience to run a McDonald's much less a country.
"He's qualified because he has military experience." Scary.
I agree, as a vet, that military experience is important during wartime but its not everything. I served under a few different commanders (5 I think) during my time in and only one of them was worth a . Also its important to consider the fact that you can make up for lack of military experience with a strong cabinet and advisers. Another thing about most people with military background is we are sometimes a little cold and only think about the end result. That's great in some situations but sometimes a little more compassion and a different style of thinking is needed. My wife has taught me this. I think its just as important to have someone that has shown they have good intellect and critical thinking skills. A cons utional lawyer would have that in spades.
I am a boss.
It would piss me off that Obama, an applicant with relatively NO experience, TOLD me he got great grades, but wouldn't produce a transcript.
That said, I've never asked for a transcript from a job applicant. I could care less what kind of grades they have. I look at their job history, their accomplishments on the job, and I try to judge their character through a series of interviews (almost impossible - I've hired a couple of people who were great interviewees, but no so good employees; unless, of course I'm hiring a sales person; then the interview is about the only thing that matters - if they can sell themself, they can sell just about anything.
There is almost NO way, in my company, that two people, with such vastly different resumes, would be considered for the same position. McCain would be interviewing for CEO/Obama for a VP, or manager's spot - not gonna give keys to MY company to someone who is not proven AT ALL. Too risky.
BTW; Ex-military generally make fantastic employees.
Let's say Obama:
Went to the Navy Academy and graduated 894 out of 899.
Left his first wife because she had an accident was crippled.
Had a wife that was addicted to pain killers and got people to write illegal rx's for her.
Was a member of the Keating-5
Would you vote for him?
Military experience isn't, IMO, a measure of the ability to be CIC. Nor do I believe college degree's do either. I just look at everything and what kind of vibe I get. Now don't get me wrong...I get great vibes from Palin, they just tend to be below the belt.
i think they get upset when you try to take their money and give it away...cowboy up and get it done
Now I know why so many college grads can't get a job.
They have CEO's in the landscaping business?
