Do it. Quit picking on babies.![]()
That's because Obama doesn't sound like a total doofus when he speaks. Open you damn eyes and ears before you post something so stupid.
Do it. Quit picking on babies.![]()
Probably because Obama can formulate a sentence when asked questions...easy question (what newspaper do you read), hard questions (what to do about the economy)
John McCain in the nominee;
He is one of the least conservative Republican Senators.
HE chose Palin.
"Moderate" Republican Presidents: Bush I; Ford.
Both 1 termers.
Funny. I think both Obama and Biden know what the Vice President's job description is. Maybe they can also come up with a Supreme Court decision they disagree with. Or perhaps they don't claim being able to see a foreign country = foreign policy experience. I think neither Obama or Biden would claim to be speaking for Joe-Six-Pack and then go out and spend $150,000 on clothing. I could keep going if you want.
I can just as easily listen to Obama and see right through his words while his sheep are still laughing at Palin.
Keep your eye on the ball amigo.
Like what? Has Obama not been able to answer a simple question like the several that Palin has flubbed?
Sen. OBAMA: Yeah. Well, it's going to start with dealing with the immediate crisis, both in the financial markets and in the housing market. And obviously, those things are connected.
On the housing market, to prevent foreclosures, I think it is important for us to create some bottom, some floor, give people some sense of where does this end. And so I am a strong proponent of the proposal that Chris Dodd and Barney Frank have put forward, having the FHA step in to help stabilize the market. It's not a bailout for borrowers or lenders, but what it says is we will rework some of these loan packages so that they're affordable. And, you know, everybody's going to have to take a haircut, the borrowers and the lenders, but it won't be as bad as if a foreclosure took place. So that'd be step number one.
Step number two, I think to stabilize and provide confidence in the financial markets it is appropriate for the Fed to take some of the actions that it has. But I think it is also important to make sure that we've coupled that with some new regulatory structures. If the Fed is going to be a lender of last resort to investment banks, then it is, I think, legitimate to make sure that those banks are subject to some sort of requirements, both in terms of liquidity and capital, to assure that we're not seeing excessive risks taken so that they get all the upside and the Fed gets all the downside. So that would be, I think, a second important step.
And then the third thing that I think is important for us to do is to understand that the economy long term has been out of balance for quite some time, even before this current crisis. I mean, we had high corporate profits, enormous rises in productivity over the last decade but wages and incomes have flatlined. And so you had a lot of concentrated wealth at the top, but ordinary folks were getting hammered with rising gas prices, rising costs of health care, rising costs of college tuition. And so creating a tax code that is more equitable and making sure that we're making investments in things like infrastructure and clean energy that can put us on a more stable long-term compe ive footing, I think that has to be part of the package as well.PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are -bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made, and with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better.PALIN: As for our right to invade, we're going to work with these countries, building new relationships, working with existing allies, but forging new also, in order to, Charlie, get to a point in this world, where war is not going to be a first option. In fact, war has got to be and military strike a last option.I was unable to find an interview transcript in which Palin actually said more than 1 paragraph's worth of material at once, so I had to cobble together three quotes.PALIN: That's a repeat of Abraham Lincoln's words, when he said, first he suggested, never presume to know what God's will is, and I would never presume to know God's will or to speak god's words, but what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that's a repeat in my comments, was, let us not pray that God is on our side, in a war, or any other time. But let us pray that we are on God's side. That's what that comment was all about, Charlie.

She spent 150k or the GOP spent 150k on her which will later be returned or auctioned to charity?
This is a ing non-story that your shepherds are diverting your attention with.
It's funny to be called a sheep as a democrat when for the last eight years I've watched as the "sheep" who voted for W have been vigorously shaving the W04 bumper stickers from their cars. What were you people thinking?
lol so you're saying she had no say in what was purchased? It would be a non-story if Palin and McCain didn't continue to go after Obama for being an "elitist". Oh there's also that tiny story of our economy going to .
Hmm
I kept looking and found this:
It seems the transcriber had problems figuring out where one sentence ended and another began.Palin: You know, that's a good point about that experience and we don't like to toot our own horn so we don't, I don't talk about my experience that much in terms of years in office or in positions that have been executive experience but, I have, I do have more experience than [Democratic presidential candidate Sen.] Barack Obama does. You know, he had served for his 300 days before he became a presidential candidate and that wasn't in executive office, of course, but, as an executive, working with John McCain, we will take on the special interests and we will clean up Wall Street and some of the abuse of the power in Washington, D.C., also to first and foremost get government back on the side of the people, and, we do this economically speaking here, by cutting taxes, not increasing them, allowing our small businesses and our families to keep more of what they earn, and produce so that they can reinvest according to their priorities. Not politicians' priorities and special interests' priorities. Our small businesses, keeping more of what they earn, that allows them to create more jobs, they're gonna be hiring more people, that gets our economy going. That's what has happened in the opportunities that I've had in executive positions as mayor, manager, and as governor. It works. Reining in government growth, recognizing government certainly plays appropriate roles in building infrastructure, providing tools for our families, for our businesses, but then government kinda getting outta the way as you have great oversight making sure that there isn't the corruption and the abuse, but government, I think get outta the way and let the private sector do what it does best.
you know.
the point isn't so much as she can't think quickly on her feet...it's that she isn't prepared for this . McCain tapped her because she's a woman and a conservative republican at a time when dems were pissed about Hilary. Unfortunately, the long-term upshot of his decision wasn't thought too carefully through and she's become a liability because of her lack of experience. Clothes aren't the issue...but McCain and the Reps were silly to think clothes MAKE the woman...smarter.
Biden is Biden for not knowing when to stop.
But he'd make a GREAT president!
I love that the people will finally get what they wish for. What's that saying...
The difference is Biden says stupid things that don't reflect on his relative intelligence. When she says stupid things, those things happen to show she has no idea what she's talking about.
are you implying that Palin would make a good President? And we did just get what you wished for...GWB...economic meltdown...war...unemployment...big deficit...and the list goes on
All of which plays into the "he's erratic and rash" narrative from the Obama camp.
An ex-fighter pilot, take risks on instict before thinking them through? Nah, never happen.
Such gut reactions work well in a jet dogfight, but not so much when you are the captain of a large ship.
Biden might be a gaffe meister, but he would never pick a Sarah Palin for VP.
Sarah probably would pick someone else like her.
Those elitists with their edjumacations, don'tcha know, and just aren't good for America, what we need know is someone who thinks that cavemen hunted Dinosaurs to be running things, and deciding how to allocate budgets for scientific research.
Man, making fun of Palin is like shooting fish in a barrel.
The stuff writes itself, and you end up feeling a little guilty.
Ha...with this comment alone, I now know who you are with no doubt in my mind.
Nice job with it, btw.
Is it just me, or does she sound like The Sweater Lady...or maybe someone outta "Fargo?"
