More Elite-XC talking from Dana and press conferences
So he can't drop to 155?
He must to defend 170?
He supposedly has to defend against the winner of Florian and Stevenson although he just beat Stevenson but if he were to beat Kenny, i guess he'd get another crack. Kos or Alves would get a shot at 170. Either one of those guys can beat BJ at 170.
I mean - if he owes 2 belts he is forced to defend both?
170 belt and then 155?
Or if he will get 170 belt drop to 155 and defend 155 and says he is retireing, they will have to do a championship bout nbetween the best in the division>?
Yes…he has to defend both. UFC rules require you to defend your belt at least once a year.
Who knows i think the company line is "Penn will have to defend both belts" but i would not put my money on Penn agreeing to that if he gets bye GSP. It's pretty damn hard, bulking up and down like that and there are tons of contenders. He may just want to fight GSP to prove he can beat him and then go back to 155.
I think it is his main intention.
All in all he looks like he could easily drop to 145
Evan - thanks for answer
Alves has had problems making weight. He has 2 major obsticals to pass.
1. Make Weight
2. Beat Kos
If he does this, I see no way he isnt the number 1 contender. However, what is his future if he fails to make weight?
you're welcome
My guess is if he were to drop a class 155 would be first. If I remember correctly he said he finds it too hard to make weight.
Yo he better make weight this time. If he can't, enough is enough Alves just move up to MW.
Yah! The Dana's don't like fighter who can't make weight.
If you want to make the Dana's happy…don't complain publicly about money, win or lose show up and fight, "make f*cking weight"
Did he just called me a er on 8:25 mark?
btw. InBrazil they speak Portugeese
And what is an issue with Dana against EliteXC?
His only argument I hear all over again is that they told "the guy" to stand up with Kimbo. "That's ing kickboxing! Not Mix Martial Arts"
btw2. Good blog![]()
Thats a pretty big deal..its fight fixing.
Well he apologized after the fight with Hughes for not making a weight. He twisted ankle and could not run and stuff.
He will make weight this time. He wants le shot in this division and I think if he gets this fight he is moving up no matter the result of this fight IMO.

I'm not saying it's not.
I would not call it fixing. All in all Seth could say no![]()
Poland
How is it not fight fixing?Your altering the possible outcome of a fight by paying a fighter to not use his skills? And Seth did say yes.
They were generous and asked Seth if he wants more money. What would be your answer?
Poland that’s not what happened…he was told to not do certain things, aspects of his game, to increase the odds of Kimbo winning. He was paid off to do it. That’s cheating.
Ehhh that post was made in jokingly way ...
For seroius - that is the only reason Dana got pissed? Yu know that history better - maybe there was something earlier?
Because he doesn't want MMA to get corrupted like boxing. He hates boxing since it ruined itself by corrupted promoters.
So this was the only thing he got pissed?
And I understand him. He is working hard to have an organization like this.
And I like to reapeat that : "If you lose trust you lose everything. The fans the money ..."
David Sten said it about 10 years ago when he was in Poland.
btw. Damn I hate boooing on UFC's cards/
Well Dana claims they have done it a few times. But basically yes.
I'm sure he'll make it this time i'm just saying he is a huge WW alreayd cutting a lot of weight to make it and if it happened again Dana would likely say
"This is embarassing, you need to think about MW"
